We had the river right up to the bottom of the bridges before. When they built the new Main Street bridge they made it higher, too. But there are other ones in town and all over the outlying areas. A couple bridges have been closed north of us up in Grand Forks (the Red River runs north). We have roads washed out, etc. It's not just right here in Fargo/Moorhead that we deal with the river, of course. Be nice when they build whatever it is they are going to build. Supposed to be some 500 year construction, I guess. Good! hehe! :)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02043285884495492598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29503764.post-13710934946750310282010-03-20T08:18:11.536-05:002010-03-20T08:18:11.536-05:00Hi AliceKay!

But--I don't know how they figure all the guesswork out--hehe! Once it crests, then it's dike patrol for days and days until it subsides. They already had a breach someplace that they scrambled to shore up. I didn't hear where. The next week or so will be tense.

I was actually kind of shocked that they wouldn't take a return and say they are separate stores!?? Weird! Anyways, I will wait till Leah brings it back because she has the receipt and all the information with it. Oh well. I'll find out what to do with it. :)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02043285884495492598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29503764.post-9651744236447722072010-03-20T01:55:54.018-05:002010-03-20T01:55:54.018-05:00We have a huge thing that was built here to hold b...We have a huge thing that was built here to hold back the flood waters after the bad flood we had in 1967 pretty much wiped out the town of Fairbanks. We've had a scare a couple of times since then when the water was clear up to the bottom of the bridges, but the flood project kept the worst of it out. It can be scary alright.akartisanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07887285432634127252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29503764.post-19015949535550109182010-03-19T21:26:10.223-05:002010-03-19T21:26:10.223-05:00Looks pretty bad out there in Fargo and Moorehead....Looks pretty bad out there in Fargo and Moorehead. I was watching it on the national news tonight. Stacking frozen turkeys is impossible without something to hold them in. Glad they got the sand bags and dike in place before the cold weather came back.

The online stores can be a pain sometimes. You would think you could return the BigBite to the regular store instead of paying to return it back thru the mail, but I see not. :\

LOL @ you and Karma.AliceKayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12027650364526343030noreply@blogger.com
