Brief visits with the sun (mine are probably even briefer because I'm sleeping during the day like a vampire right now--LOL!)...
...are cut off by the return of the storm clouds.
As beautiful as they are, I'd rather we didn't see them at all for a couple of weeks, please. ;)
In fact, it has been raining since I got up a few hours ago. Not a thunderstorm this time--just constant, steady rain pattering against the windows and the air conditioner in the quiet of the night.

Somebody must love a good lightning storm--LOL! The Arugula was popping up less than two days after Leah potted it!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. If Karma wasn't zonked out in her cat bed, she'd say hi, too.

The following quote reminded me of a concept I was "given" almost 30 years ago and tried to write down. To those who know me well--do you remember "Flowers and Garbage"? Does anyone happen to have a copy?

"An act of love that fails is just as much a part of the divine life as an act of love that succeeds, for the love is measured by its own fullness, not by its reception."

That does sound like a Quaker. All of them I've known have been loving and giving. Those thunderclouds were NOT taken at 1:00 am in the morning, I suspect, Rita. Glad you are sleeping, even if it's vampire sleep. :-)
Wonderfully Creative photos ~ love your kitty~ ^_^
Over from Creative Everyday ~Hope you will come visit: A Creative Harbor and other blog is Share the Creative Journey~ namaste, Carol ^_^
Karma has the right idea - snoze and dream through the steady patter of the rain...
I know of a buddist saying about flowers and garbage... it goes something like:
All flowers become garbage. That is the meaning of impermanence.
Although garbage stinks, although garbage is not pleasant to hold in your hand, if you know how to take care of the garbage, you will transform it back into flowers.
You know gardeners don’t throw away garbage. They preserve the garbage and take care of the garbage, and in just a few months the garbage becomes compost. They can use that compost to grow lettuce, tomatoes, and flowers.
Some of us are capable of seeing flowers in garbage.
The big ol' wheel of life.. it keeps turnin'...
Wouldn't it be nice if we could snap our fingers and share weather where it is needed around the world? I could do with a bit of that rain right now... think you could snap your fingers and make it happen? lol
Love the clouds. Hope you have a good day - or is it night? How do you know?!?
Weird how some places are getting more rain than anything and others could use it and are getting none. Shame you can't do the finger snapping thing Deanna suggested! ;)
Well... Look on the bright side, At least you're sleeping, even if it's not when you'd probably prefer to be sleeping.
I sure wish we had some of that steady rain :o) Those picture you took of the clouds are just beautiful to me! I hope your vampire phase ends soon for you!
Great shots of those clouds, but they sure do look menacing. We had some thunderstorms go thru Pennsylvania today. We got about a half inch of rain where I live, but some places south of me got 5 to 6 inches of rain in a short time and were under flash flood warnings.
The Arugula seems to be taking off well. Isn't it funny how some plants thrive in certain weather conditions while others falter?
Smart Karma. :)
I hope the rest of your Monday will be a good one.
What a great quote! I woke up to rain and--almost unheard of---thunder this morning. So much for our summer, we got three days in! Hope your sleep/wake schedule is moderating somewhat!!!
Djan--LOL!! No taken a recent evening before a storm. I don't have that big of a flashlight--ROFL!!
Carol--Welcome! I checked out your blogs and am now a follower of ArtMuseDog. :) I see you are a second level Reiki. I am, too--years ago. Second Level Healing Touch, also. But I have mostly done my own form of energy work (Soul Comfort)--never professionally. I have never heard of BlogFrog. I'll have to go back and check that out, too. Thanks so much for stopping by!! :)
Iggy--I like that buddhist saying! How true! I probably should give a short version of "Flowers and Garbage" in the blog so you know what the heck I am talking about--LOL!
Now you have that song in my head...;)
Deanna--I have been snapping away! ;)
It IS difficult to know what day it is when you go to sleep and wake up on the same day--LOL! ;)
Tori--Can you hear my fingers snapping? Maybe I need to learn how to do the Bewitched nose wiggle? :)
Lynn--I know! I loved the beauty of the clouds with the sun setting on them--just wish they wouldn't wet on us--hehe!
AliceKay--5-6 inches--whew! No wonder there's flooding all over, too.
Yes! Now the basil has popped up. But the two that sprouted right away are at the back of the table and didn't get quite as soaked, either. ;)
Carol--If you're not used to thunder it will make you sit up and take notice--LOL! Thanks! I'm slowly making my way around the clock. :):)
I have no clue about the Flowers and Garbage but you have me intrigued.
YAY on the Arugula shooting already!
The cloud pics do look quite spectacular even though you'd rather they weren't bringing rain.
Karma looks so peaceful, sweet thing that she is.
Sometimes, I wish I could sleep through the day...sigh...
Serena--I promise I'll tell the F&G story on the blog soon. ;)
Sometimes I look at Karma sleeping so peacefully and wish I could fall asleep like that almost anywhere, anyplace, anytime! :):)
Yeah, maybe! LOL! ;)
