Monday-10:30am

Never got to any art this weekend.  I did do some more gluing into my Tangle Binder, though.  Got a late start on Friday and when my alarm went off to take my melatonin my hands were all sticky so I thought--I'll go take it in just a minute.  Forgot.  Well, since I've been sick my hours have shifted a bit later in the first place and I didn't get to bed until after 3am!
****
I find it endlessly amusing that if I sleep past 9am now I think half the day is gone--LOL!  My 61 years of crazy, unpredictable hours were quickly forgotten since I started on the melatonin the end of February and have been on more regular hours.  I was sometimes going to bed at 9 in the morning...or noon...or 5pm.  I never knew.
****
Karma has adapted quickly, too.  Never, ever used to cry to wake me up.  She has the audacity now to start complaining if I'm not up by 8 or 9am.  I hope to be back to my more regular schedule this week (somewhere in the vicinity of midnight to 8am).  Just so-so-so funny to me.  You'd think we were pod creatures.  I have gotten used to being able to actually do things on certain days even--like blog!  Never say never in this life.  ;)
****
Karma has finally been in the new bed during the day once in a while.
She gets in and just stands there and complains a while first before she reluctantly tries to lie down and find a comfortable position.
She has managed to get comfortable enough to sleep deeply on occasion...
...but it's just not like her blue bed...
...with the squishy, comfy sides.
Karma has begun a brand new odd form of protest.  She never goes in the bathtub.  (Never say never, right?)  And the last few days I have heard her yowling several times...
...and found her sitting in the bathtub in a foul mood.
Maybe it's time to put the blue bed back up on the love seat--LOL!  ;)
****
The mystery building does not appear to be an apartment building as these walls go up.  Probably another business of some kind.
The long yellow line--was an electric cable.  You might have to click to see the larger picture but the new connecting road now has street lights!  Getting to look a little too civilized out there.
Dagan and Leah got their stuff moved and spent their first night in the new home on Saturday night.  They had a few more things to bring over on Sunday.  That's all I know.  They don't have internet hooked up yet, but Leah did make a video tour that she never had time to download onto her computer.  So eventually we will all get to see a tour of the empty house all done and ready.  So happy for them!
****
Let's see...oh, Caroline dumped the 40# bag of kitty litter for me--yes.  (I had a couple people ask about that--worried about me and my bum arm.)  And, yes, I am still coughing and tired and feeling off--but better than I was a week ago, by a long shot.  ;)
****
Karma and I plan to have our usual nice quiet Thanksgiving here.  I hope everyone (in US) has a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We need to remember all year long what we are grateful for, right?  I have such an endless list...too long to mention.  So I shall just smile and wish you a beautiful, heartwarming week.  :) :)

That picture of Karma sleeping with her legs over the side of the bed made my day! So cute!

I love Karma!! As you change, so does she. The bathtub thing makes me laugh-- it reminds me of our old dog Max. He was a tiny Maltese, full of life and personality. I would get home from work, expecting him to greet me at the door like he does all the time. One whole week, he never came to the door. I would search and search and at the end of the search, finally find him in my mom's bath tub, wagging his tail and smiling his toothy smile full of joy that I've found him at last. He probably made noises but I didn't hear it. He would somehow get himself in the tub but not able to get himself out. It was the oddest thing ever!!

You apparently can teach an old CAT new tricks! Glad you're feeling better!!

I think Karma has come up with an unusual protest, being in the tub! HA! Maybe she thinks her complaints seem louder there, more echo! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too, mine will also be quiet! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Melatonin worked for me for two or three nights and then gave up on me. It's like men. They can't tolerate my fussiness for long. I think Elvis Aaron Schwarz was rather shocked when he saw that my shoes each have their own little cubbyholes in my closet. I'm so glad the young people moved into their new place. What a happy time for them.

Love,
Janie

I think Karma is looking for something blue to replace her old bed, thus camping out on the blue flowers in the bathtub!

She's a smart little kitty- hope you both have a wonderful Thanksgiving~

Sometimes we take sleep for granted and it isn't till we find our sleep patterns all screwed up that we realise how important it is.......

Karma is so cute having a sulk because she doesn't have her old bed......lol

Love the pictures of Karma. She says so much in those eyes of hers. Protesting in the bath tub? LOL

Will be interesting to see what that building becomes when it's finished.

I'm glad Dagan and Leah are all moved into their new home. Can't wait to see the video tour. :)

Have a good week and Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my goodness Rita...That photo of Karma where she is dead asleep with her arm hanging out of her bed is just adorable. It would make the best painting!!!! My cat sleeps in a different place every few days. Right now she is using her cat bed, not as cute as your Karma thought! My son is visiting from Minot for two weeks, I'm so happy to have him home for a while. Glad you are getting some sleep. :-)

Dear Rita, and may you, too, have a day filled with gratitude and with the knowledge that so many of us beyond Fargo treasure you and Karma. Peace.

Karma is such a fun subject. She is always into something. Glad your friend/helper was able to get that litter in the container. I have lots of trouble lifting my 40 lb containers, but that could be because I'm only 4'11" and tiny.

Good to hear your kids got moved in..and the weather has cooperated! Sound like you have the long edition of that cold..just like Far Guy..this is the first week he is not coughing. Seven weeks..that is how long it has taken him to recover completely.
I bet Karma saw something in the tub..a bug maybe..sometimes I get spiders in my tub in the spring and fall..yuck..I know..I squish them..no catch and release here.
Happy Thanksgiving! We are doing low key too..nothing fancy:)

Happy Almost Thanksgiving!!

I was JUST telling the husband that even though I stay up at night I cant mentally sleep past 8am or I feel like the day is over LOL If I slept till 9 I am guessing it would feel like it was tomorrow! HAHAHAHA I can only sleep well about 2 hours maybe 3 if I am lucky a night. Need it yes but my brain just never shuts off. Annoying. Melatonin helps a bit but I miss my Ambien *sigh*.

LOVE the shower shots. How funny is that!! Been and Sophie are forever trying to get in the shower with us. Thought I suspect that enthusiasm would dwindle fast once the door actually opened and they got wet lol

Congrats to the kiddos! How exciting for them!! *gasp* No net yet? That should have been second right after toilet paper! HAHAHA

Have a super day tomorrow and the rest of the week!

*hugs*

Happy Thanksgiving. It looks like you and Karma both have sleep issues. I vote for putting her favorite bed back on the loveseat :-)

Happy to hear the move to the house has been accomplished.

Sleep is a very strange commodity....i would like more of it. A strange bleeping noise has kept me awake for weeks and I had to wear ear plugs. Never slept so well in my life. Now the bleep has stopped i don't sleep as well.
Get arty asap and love to Karma and you both.

OH dear, poor Karma...she is very set in her ways. I know you'll feel much better once you're back to normal routine...yes, it must be so great after so many years being on crazy hours.

YAY for Dagan and Leah moving into their new home. I hope their cats adjust okay. I'll look forward to the video tour.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Karma! As you know, we don't do Thanksgiving here in Australia but, I agree, we should show gratitude all year long.

Love and hugs,
Serena xo
