Good Morning!
I decided to use something from playtime past for The Artist's Playroom challenge this week...just because I wanted to participate and this immediately came to mind. Our challenge was to use two colors to make art and then make up a word for it. Example: Blue and Orange makes Blorange. So since my art is Blue and Red--that makes (quite dramatically, I thought) either Bled or Rue.
Yesterday (since my hand was actually a little shaky all morning from overdoing it with my good arm the day before) I passed on the journal gluing. Last night, though, I tested out my arm on the Zendala Challenge doing my own random doodling and my hand was much better. Took pictures this time. Here's the template:
I had no clue what to do with it--started out with one small circle in an outside corner and went from there.
I felt this one needed color.
Was a very relaxing contrast to watching Django Unchained. Violent (but also humorous) movie--loved it!
Took forever to finish this because I kept finding myself frozen--pen in hand--glued to the screen--LOL!

Anyways, it's a sunny morning!!
28 degrees and not too windy--so Karma's already been out once sitting in her little corner of sunshine on the porch. :) They're talking rain or freezing rain over the weekend so Karma and I will enjoy the rays in our separate fashions today.
I hope to get some gluing done before we meet again. ;)
Have a refreshing weekend!

I am always impressed with your Zendalas! They are so fascinating and so pretty!
I hope your arm is up for gluing soon (and that you don't sniff too much of it!)
Hugs -
You do an amazing job with zendalas!
The inky splodges are great. Did you use a straw, and if so how did you get it to go in all directions rather than one?
I love it, and just right in those colours, Bled Or Rue. It looks like great fun, i never have great success with splodgink. I perhaps need to work outside and just be braver.
Your Zen doodling is wonderful.
yup, always enjoy your zendalas. :) bled or rue, huh? :)
the "rue" ink spots look lie a fun time and the zendala is simply beautiful. It has a special interplay with the pattern. :)
Looks kinda like Tiffany Blue...
Rue, that is a great name, you have so much patience to create such a lovely design. Karma looks very chilled out, I have a soft spot for all animals but cats especially. Thanks for the lovely comments you left on my blog :)
As always, I love your zendalas!!
Oh wowness..LOVE your Blorange..how fantastical and gorgeous..stunning piece.! I will have to get back into apr sometime soon and play with y'all!
I am always so entranced by your creative mandalas..i love the colors you added in..totally sublime.

I also love your zendala. Karma sure does look happy to have some rays to sit in. And Rue IS quite a fine name! :-)
Sometimes I eat lupper (lunch and supper together). I like Blorange. I don't think I have Django Unchained in my queue. If you liked it, then I think I'll try it. I usually like Tarantino, but I heard such negative things about Django, including that it's racist. I know you wouldn't like a racist movie.
Love,
Janie
Love your artwork! Sunny days are good days! You and Karma enjoy your weekend.
Very interesting, but effective, way to start. Like the color.
Aww sunshine at last for you and Karma to enjoy :)
Great artwork with such strong colours. Admit I like 'rue' more than 'bled'. It sounds better.
Fantastic zentangle too.
Having to resort to heating here today, so my heat must have transferred to you. Thankfully the sun is still here :)
Have a sun filled weekend xoxo
You made a very beautiful zendala, with lovely colors, Rita! Nice to see the whole process too.
Have a great weekend, whatever the weather will do.
Your zendala is so beautiful with all the details and burst of color. Karma looks very alert and healthy. She must be back to her inquisitive self again. :)
love your bled/rue creations. did you blow them with a straw? a straw is one of my most treasured tools in my art box. love the effect!
Very nice zendala. Very colorful, too. Looks like you enjoyed creating it.
I'd like to see "Django Unchained". Previews looked pretty good. :)
Chilly here today and we're supposed to get a freeze tonight. My rhododendrons have budded out and my perennials are out, so I covered them all with sheets just before dark. The wind was still blowing though. Hoping they survive the night.
The Zendala is lovely!! Your Bled or Rue piece looks quite effective too.
I've noted down 'Django Unchained'...it sounds like a must-see. :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Love and hugs ~ xo
Oh! Super fab zendala!!! I don't know how you can "doodle" so perfectly! I may have to give it a go, as they say, and see just how pathetic mine turn out. So glad you got some sun in there with all that snow. Our day today was finally sunny and nice - yay!!
Back to the routine again tomorrow!
Lovely art work!
This Zendala is incredible. You have such patience. It actually made my fingers ache to watch it progress.
BTW, I'm really, really jealous of your new Gelli plate!!
Like your color combo for the APR challenge. Also like the zendala, you are so good about keeping up with those.
