Thursday-11:30am

Woke up to a dark day...
...with snow...
..and wind.
Spring obviously took off for the south for a while longer.  Winter can be such a pushy, dramatic sort.  I can't really blame her.  ;)
****
Here's a picture of Karma standing for Djan.  ;)  Yes, she does stand.  Mostly to get from one place to another--much like her roommate...
...but the last few days, if you can believe it, Karma's actually been leaping in the air!!  When I went shopping with Dagan and Leah Monday night they had to make a stop over at the Natural Pet Store...and I couldn't resist this bug on a string toy that D&L said their cats are crazy over.  I didn't buy it with the stick because I already have several around here that I could attach the string and bug to.
Sammy and Annie have a much longer green bug with more legs, but they were out of those.  So I got the black and red bug.  Karma LOVES it!!  I have to make sure she doesn't keep it for very long because when she catches it she immediately wants to bite the thin rubbery legs off--and I do believe that is the main attraction.  ;)
I called and asked the store to hold one of the green ones when they come back in.  Anything that can get Karma leaping in the air is definitely worth the money--ROFL!
****
Myself--I'll pass on the leaping.  ;)  After shopping and walking for 2 1/2 hours on Monday night--well, I have been in recovery since then.  Doesn't take much and I am totally shot.  Been sleeping 9 to almost 10 hours at night and could hardly move Tuesday--but it was soooo worth every minute!  I haven't been out shopping for such a long time.  Target even had new shopping carts--well, new to me.  Leah said they've had them for at least a couple of years.  We couldn't remember the last time I'd been to Target...2 years...maybe 3??  I get to Tochi's around once every year or so, but that is a small store with much less walking.  My back held up surprisingly well--so the new recliner has truly been working its magic!  I am all stocked up again on Charmin, Puffs, and all those dry good essentials--and got to spend time out and about with D&L.  :)
****
The rest of my Amazon order arrived.  Some cotton twine and Martha Stewart stencils.
These are small stencils that can stick to glass or smooth surfaces.
But I think I will be able to use them for cards and mixed media...even if I have to tape them down along the edges.
Oh, and after we were done shopping D&L came up and Leah drilled the holes for me in the davy board covers!
I'm trying some of them with a different pattern.
Now I have to sand down the holes and around all the edges of the smaller ones.  You can see how ragged they look in a lot of places.
Davy board doesn't come with nice clean edges in the first place--at least not the davy board I purchased.  It is hard to cut it cleanly.  Even though it will be covered with paper, I just can't leave it like that--have to sand it down and smooth it out.  I was hoping I'd be up to that by now, but I am still quite sore from shopping and now I already need to try to get to the license bureau again tomorrow...so I am not going to push my luck.  I'll wait.  I hope we don't have this kind of weather tomorrow afternoon.  I really should watch the news once in a while--LOL!
****
Caroline came yesterday.  She's switching over to Tuesdays next time because of changes at work.  She got another position part-time (same company--promotion!) but is keeping some of her clients--including me!  I'm so glad!  She's been coming here for around seven years, I think.  I am so happy for her taking another step up the ladder, as they say.  :)
****
I have both Life of Pi and Hitchcock coming from Netflix tomorrow, so you know what I'll be watching this weekend.  I read Life of Pi several years ago and cannot imagine how they could bring this story to the screen, so I am anxious to see it.  (Maybe it's a good thing I read it long enough ago that I won't remember all the details--LOL!)
****
From the wintery wonderland of Fargo...have a marvelous day!!

We had a few spring days and today it was spitting snow and raining with the high of 50 (warm to you, eh?) but by the weekend, the sun will be back.
I saw Minnesota had lots of snow too, as did Colorado.
I am over it (we don't get much but we had our share)
I am really happy to hear that Karma is a new cat!!!

I love the thought of Miss Karma leaping after that bug! She's still got it in her, that youthful kitten that likes to chase everything.

I so wish I could send you some of the warm, lovely weather we've been having. Today is a spectacular day, and rather cool because we started out in the high 60's. I would die, I think, in your weather.

I am beyond happy to hear Karma is acting like she is feeling good!

:)

Also, happy you are well stocked with toilet paper. Never have too much of that!

Target! Did you get to use some gift cards? I read Life of Pi right after it came out. I don't remember the details either, which is good since I also have the movie in my Netflix queue. I remember I thought it was a strange book, and I didn't feel as if I really "got" it.

Love,
Janie

Your weather is so weird, I guess its because you are next to Canada. It sounds so romantic to me to be so close to Canada!
You have a great stash there all new and ready to be played with. I wish you lots of fun with them.
xx

Well, thank you for that Karma picture of her on her feet! Did you get your drivers license renewed and I missed It? Sorry you are under the weather again, but it does sound like it was worth it. :-)

My comment about spring on the previous post was actually meant for this post but I'm sure you gathered that already. That's what I get for not keeping up and then getting posts confused. lol

It's so good to see Karma back to her old self. Wonderful, in fact!

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun playing with the new goodies from Amazon.

I'd sand the Davy board down a little too before covering it.

Your license needs renewing?? I like how they do it here now...you can extend your license online and they just send a sticker out for you to put on the back of the current license. I think you can do this a couple of times before eventually needing to go in for a new license. Bear in mind, we can renew licenses here for up to FIVE years each time.

I hope you get lots of rest after your shopping trip. Sending you and Karma lots of love and hugs from DownUnder ~ xo

Spring...here one day, gone the next. I heard on the news that Fargo was getting snow again.

Last week, some mornings were very cold. Temps around 20 degrees. The other day (Tuesday) we had temps in the mid 70s and I worked out in the lawn. Yesterday we managed to hit 62 before some violent thunderstorms rolled thru during the evening and night. We were 20 to 25 degrees cooler than the southern part of the state, though. Today was rainy and cool. Temps in the low 40s. Very weird weather.

It's nice to hear Karma is back to playing with things on string. That's a pretty cool bug. lol

I hope you feel better so you can get to the license bureau tomorrow. We can renew our driver's licenses online here in PA. We can also renew our annual vehicle registrations. I do both. So easy.

I almost bought "Life of Pi" at Sam's Club Sunday. I didn't, but I do want to see it as soon as it comes on the movie channels we get on our cable. I did splurge and buy "Les Miserables", though. ;)

Hi Rita - Looks like it is still winter there. The hot summer weather will come soon enough though. Sounds like you had fun shopping. Enjoy your week and stay warm!

Too funny that you got a photo of Karma standing just for DJan. What a hoot. That's just too much snow for April, don't you think?

What a fun new toy for Karma.

Well, I hope all your snow is long gone by now!!! Winter was pretty harsh all over this year. Glad you had a great time getting out and about, even if you had to pay for it later. Love that Karma is enjoying her new toy too!

Karma is certainly very healthy and to see her leaping must be pure bliss! At least it is able to exercise that way, lol. Enjoy the new stuff you got online. This will certainly keep you busy :)

Have you ever tried those little red LED lights for cats? They look like a mouse with a red light that comes out of its face. You hold it in your hands and move it around so the red light moves on the floor and wall. Karma - if intrigued enough - would then chase after that light and try to catch it. Great way for cats to get exercise while having fun. About half my cats like it...the other half think they're too good for the light. ;)
