Saturday-12:45 pm

I know!  Hard to believe I'm back again already--LOL!  We had a really creepy sky yesterday that reminded me of tornadoes, but it blew past us before we even saw any rain.
Today--back to the usual...
...hanging around 90 degrees, sticky, with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms.  That's the prediction for the next three days.
I don't have any new bookmarks to show for the Artist's Playroom challenge.  I hardly have any of my own bookmarks left because I have given almost all of them away--LOL!  But here are a few so that I can participate this week--if I'm not too late already.  :)
Karma is snoozing by her toy box.
Too muggy, even for her, this morning.
Well, the long awaited party platter arrived...
...broken.
Cracked in...
...two places.
Obviously not strong enough for what I wanted to use it for, so I am going to have to go through all the red tape to get a refund.  Oh well.  Such is life.  I guess I'll order another sturdy red food tray.  Like Leah said, it doesn't have to fit the exact size of those palettes.  I just need a strong buffer.
****
Holly came by with my library books!!  Eight new books to read as many as I can in four weeks.  The top one is an inter-library loan and due in four weeks, so that's when somebody will be back.  What fun, eh?
And I forgot to show you the cool double-walled cup Leah gave me!  It has a screw on cover and a hard straw that come with it.  Cool!  Perfect for my raspberry tea!
And I also forgot to show you another one of the weird purchases.  I love the huge metal scoop (I almost said shovel) that I got for my cat slave duties, but the slots are quite wide and little bits are always falling through.  So, former pet shop assistant manager me--I ordered a corner litter scoop...
...that is actually made for reptile sand--LOL!
It has smaller holes and they're usually fairly sturdy--so I thought I'd give this a go once in a while to get the smaller pieces out...as an attentive to detail cat slave would do, of course.  ;)
****
Just a quick pop-in.  I am obviously feeling better than I was.  Things are on the upswing!
****
Oh, and BIG FAT DUH!!  I can test the yeast in some warm sugar water!  I truly am completely out of the swing of baking from scratch.  I should have thought of that!  Leave it to Leah to remind me of what I already know--LOL!  So, think of me smiling as l test the yeast today...and make a smoothie...and read... :):)

Wow, I've never been so close to the top of comments before. I'm going to comment on more than today..just a few things.
Love the plates and "egg cup" fro Ikea. I do love that place, our house is mostly furnished in Ikea. Just thinking about it, I'm amazed at how much stuff is Ikea. So glad they built one less than 3 hours away, we used to have to drive about 6. (only once, and bought so much to start the house, but some we would have returned, except too far away.
Hubby wants to know where you got the Litter Scoop. He's the slave to our cat. Yet, Max comes when I call him and is lying right beside me half upside down right now.

I have a few of the double walled tumblers with lids and straws. Beware that sometimes the lids start to leak. At least one or two of mine did. I have a couple that you freeze, and it keeps my drink cold for a long time without using ice. love that!

the weather here is hot, muggy, humid, rainy....you never know if it's going to rain or be sunny lately...but you always know the humidity is so high I can't breathe outside.

Have fun with the bread machine. I used to make Gluten Free bread in mine, but I had to go on an even stricter diet, and I can't find a GF bread recipe that I like that doesn't have something in it that I can't have. So I don't eat much bread. I have one that I buy that has very few ingredients, and I can pronounce them all! but it's very expensive, so only for special things. (and it's high in calories)

So glad you are feeling better. And Karma is being Karma.

Bummer about that cracked thing, but everything else does seem great! Love those bookmarks, Rita. And I just hate to say it, but it's in the high sixties, sunny, with a light breeze here. :-)

Lovely, colorful bookmarks! We are having much the same weather in NY minus the threat of tornadoes. Humid, hot & thunderstorm threats every afternoon!
Thanks for your visit to my blog and your nice comment on my feather bookmark!

I hope your yeast is good. If it is, then it will give me hope for mine, which was purchased in 2009.

Love,

Disappointing party platter but that litter scoops cool! Though there's a limit how excited I can be about cat litter scooping! :) that pile of interesting books is more my scene. Enjoy Sunday Rita.

That sky looks really ominous. We have hot sticky weather in the high eighties at the moment. We are not used to it and it feels so unpleasant. Hopefully it won't last long.

I usually put a plastic bag over my hand and just pick up when I am on cat slave duty. But Charlie is out most of the time, he is in his summer mode and just pops home for snacks.
Stay cool

it's hard for me to believe that it gets SO HOT in FARGO!!! i mean, when i think of ND...i think cold. your temps are the same as ours. HOT and MUGGY! ugh!
i have never seen a corner scoop!! of course i haven't had any need to look at reptile scoops. didn't even know they made scoops for reptile poops! when i had a ball python ('monty'), i just usewd to put on those surgical gloves & pluck the poop outa there! haha oh boy, it's too early to be talking poop!
love the bookmarks...too bad about the cracked plate...what a pain in the...

I hope you'll be able to save red tape and use it as a strong adhesive rather than all the trouble it sounds like is ahead in order to return that tray. (I was actually referring to red liner tape, which will hold just about anything, in case you were clueless as to what I was talking about)

Loved that first sky shot. Reminds me of home. After all, I DO live in Kansas. Weather is hot and muggy here, too. Perfect tornado weather!

I have always wanted to read those Cat books, but don't ever get to the library since I graduated from Uni. And their books were dry and boring.

I love those book marks you created! They are beautiful - I love fun and colorful things! That is a great kitty litter scoop - will work very well. When we get another kitty and have a box to take care of, I am going to look for one of those. Glad you weather has cleared up. I don't like "tornado skies." Enjoy the week ahead.

That's too bad about your platter! How disappointing! That sky picture looked ominous. Glad no tornadoes spawned out of that!

That is one creepy looking sky. I'm glad you didn't get any bad storms from it.

It looks like whoever shipped that platter didn't package it very well. It should have been sent in something other than a bubble mailer. I hope it won't be too difficult to return. I hate when things arrive damaged and you have to go thru a hassle in returning it. Good luck.

That's a neat litter scoop. I have to admit that I laughed when I read "clean and efficient way to remove reptile waste from bedding". LOL But hey, whatever works! :)

That's a neat cup, too. Looks pretty sturdy.

Enjoy your books and keep cool.

Wow, the difference a day makes in your sky photo's.

Love your colorful bookmarks and have read several of the books in your pile. I think I already said I read all or most all of the Cat Who series. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my all time favorite books.

P.S. I was excited to tell you that we bought two kittens. They are darling. And one looks a bit like Karma.
