Tuesday-noon

Thought I should do a quick post since I forgot to let you know that my mom did stay in Minnesota.  They now have tickets to go down on the 22nd.  Mom talked to a neighbor in Florida and was told her trailer looked okay.  Whew!  It's in Polk County in Winter Haven and they had possibly 100 mph winds from what I saw on TV that night.
****
Also, Janie Junebug is fine down in Jacksonville but wants people to know she has no internet connection even though their electricity is back on.  Backyard lake isn't even as bad as it has been other times--whoohoo!
****
So grateful that Irma wasn't as strong as they thought.  She did so much damage as it was.  Texas and Florida will have a long haul ahead of them getting back to normal.  The islands might never be the same.  I hope this was the worst of it...since Jose is apparently weakening.  Never know what the future holds.
****
Happy, ordinary news up here.  Annie has started to come up for some closer-contact time!
She either jumps up on the arm of the chair or comes up from the footrest so that I will give her a quick cuddle and then she's been settling in on the chair arm for a while.  I think she's stayed as long as ten minutes!
****
Petco was a fail.  Like I said, I have never ordered from them online before.  Took ten days to get here and this is how it arrived.
Took me 40 minutes just to dig out all the toys and get them out of their packaging.  Even the ones that were inside of a bag--the bags were opened and full of kitty litter.  It looked like UPS had sealed the entire box with clear packing tape because it was leaking all over the place.  I don't know how much kitty litter is missing.  I'll have to wait for Dagan to come over to help me to actually get the bag out of the box and into my litter container.
****
Yup--Petco was a total fail for me.  Not ordering from them again.  At least not kitty litter--LOL!  I've been ordering the same kitty litter through Amazon for years and have never had a broken bag, so I guess I'll stick with them.
****
Leah sent me some pics of Liam.
I will probably be over there for another visit this week.
Big babies have such fat cheeks...just want to kiss them.  Well, grandmas do--LOL!
****
Been hot up here.  AC days.  Supposed to hit 90 today.  Won't last long, of course.  Fall will be back.  Me?  I'm one of those people who can hardly wait for the cooler weather and turning leaves.  :)
****
Hope to blog again pretty soon.  Trying to post more frequently so I don't have those super long posts--LOL!  :)
****
My thoughts and prayers are with all the people dealing with the violent events occurring all over our world.  So much of it lately.

With photos like that Petco may send you a replacement. That was a definite packaging fail :( I'm pleased about your increasingly sociable kitty/ She's learning you are a safe space. Beautiful baby!

So glad to see Annie is learning to let you pet her. Does she purr? And yes, little Liam is adorable! My sister just called and she's doing just fine, the mobile home has a little cosmetic damage, nothing big, though. :-)

I was glad to read about your mother. Don't know Janie, but I have a friend near Orlando. Their electricity is out and probably will be for at least another week. They live on a golf course, and are "camping out" in their very nice home. They may travel to stay with friends if the heat increases in their home.

It's amazing what I've seen about Irma. Seems the entire state is badly damaged or destroyed, but you and my friends say it wasn't as bad as some thought. That's not what I'm getting on TV, so maybe it's better not to have a TV!

Send that photo to Petco. Even if they don't do anything, at least they will have a record of your dissatisfaction.

So glad Annie is finally coming out of her shell.

Glad everyone is ok. I've never ordered from petco. I like pet smart better, but man, that would be a pain to dig out those toys. CUTE photos of the new baby, and Annie too as she is a fairly new baby for you also. Hugs-Erika

Liam looks so content! I am glad Annie is getting more social!! I would send that photo to Petco and complain, they should reship that mess.

What a relief for your Mum that her trailer is okay. I hope Janie doesn't have to wait too long for the internet to be accessible...at least, they have electricity which is great. Hurricanes/cyclones can be very destructive. We had a bad one like Irma back in 2011.

I'm so happy to see Annie wanting that closer contact.

That's terrible state to receive your order in. I'd be going back to Amazon too. I'd also suggest putting in a complaint about the condition in which you received your order. It let's them know so they can instruct staff on better packing and handling.

Liam is such a handsome boy...adorable! Maddy's cheeks were like his.

I have finished a letter to you — will mail it off when I go out next.

Love and hugs xo

I'd like to kiss those baby cheeks, too. Thanks for staying in touch with me and letting everyone know that we're alive. Boy, does it feel good to be online.

Love,
Janie

That does look like a rather haphazard packing job. It's unbelievable to think of wind reaching 100+ miles per hour. There was a video on Facebook that I saw of what Irma looked and sounded like. Just bone-chilling in terms of the noise - similar to the sound of a tornado - that loud eerie train sound. Happy to see Annie is getting more comfortable sitting with you.

I don't know how I missed this, Rita, but I am answering it now ... pretty late LOL! Liam is a little angel, he really looks like a cute and contented baby, at least while he is sleeping. I like his sleepsuit too, I haven't seen one like that before.
Petco doesn't operate here but if it did, I wouldnt buy from them either. You'd think that if they are sending cat litter they would have some means of packaging it properly, it's heavy stuff and such a pain if it all escapes!!! :) :)
And glad to see how Annie is gradually getting more sociable, and relaxing. I know you and she will be thick as thieves soon!
I was really glad our friends in FLorida were okay after all the scary warnings about Irma. And glad your loved ones too.
