I was doing a little better and then woke up Friday with my knee a lot more painful and swollen. I probably twisted it somehow either the day before or while I slept. ?? My knee is so swollen it is hard to bend it and my foot still hurts from the gout so I am hobbling about like I have a peg leg. Cat napping around the clock.

Caroline came to clean on Tuesday and she offered to bring me over a walker I could use. (I was using one of my black plastic chairs to get around--the walker is easier to move that's for sure.)
Dagan and Leah have been taking good care of me and checking on me regularly. But this weekend it is even difficult for me to walk very far at all. My day evolves around making trips to the bathroom because I am trying to drink lots of fluids, Just feeding Annie is a huge project, let alone scooping the cat box. It was Ian's 5th birthday party yesterday and Leah was planning on coming by tonight...so I didn't let them know I was worse. I will later on.
****
My huge challenge today will be to shower...and maybe try to make it back to the walk-in clinic to see if they can tell me what I did to my knee and why the gout is no better.
****
At the moment, I can't imagine walking all the way to the car in the first place or how I could get into Leah's high vehicle...I do have a small stool...

Sorry I don't have anything better or new to tell you. I think I may just wait to come back to blog when I do have something. Right now I am going to try to doze again for a little while. Be back when I have something to report. :) :)

It sounds like something else to me, since you are not getting any better but worse. I do hope you get back to the doctor and have them take a look at that knee. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Rita. Also sending gentle virtual hugs.
Woman i've been kinda absent lately and you are just falling apart!!! What am i going to do with you?! This does not sound good! And i'm worried for you. Like DJan i hope you get back to the doctor soon.. Whatever they did for you is not working. Please .. please keep us updated as best you can. hugs! deb
I'm so sorry to hear about your painful knee and inability to get around - and I can certainly relate to it. I really hope the walker will help (or perhaps even a cane??), and I'm glad that you have someone to check up on you.
Due to my bad back, I often have to hang onto everything in order to get around the house - and caring for the cat's litter boxes and food is agony.
Take care - - you're in my thoughts.
I'm sorry to hear your knee is worse :( I don't have the same issues you do, but I've taken to using Epsom salts in the bath, and it helps with my hip -at least in my mind it does ;) I hope they have advice for you at the clinic. It's frustrating to have such trouble just getting around :( but I'm always glad to hear what's up with you, even if there's not much new.
That's awful! I noticed your post on the sidebar of Elizabeth's blog...the walker caught my eye so I looked a bit closer as to whose blog it was. Sorry that it was you! Take care and take it slow.
Oh my, this is terrible! I am so sorry to hear you are feeling so bad and have so much difficulty getting around. I agree with the others that said you should go back to the doctors and get it checked again. Maybe it is something else and they can come up with something to help you.
Sending healing hugs!
Walkers are great, just saying.
Sorry your still in pain, I can barely stand let alone walk without terrible pain.
Hugs. I hope you feel better soonest. It hurts to hear that you are in such a state.
Good heavens! It's always something with us. A shower chair might help, too. I used one after I broke my back. I absolutely couldn't stand in the shower without my back brace and couldn't get the back brace wet. I don't know how much they cost, but my walker and shower chair were godsends.
Love,
Janie
You can get gout in your knees too, use some ice and take some type of anti inflamitory. It is so painful. Have Leah pick you up some Cherry Juice and Cherry Pills. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh Rita, so sorry that the knee and foot are causing such pain - good that Caroline had a walker to share. Hope you get to see your Doctor soon and they can look further into what is happening to your knee/leg. So glad you have your McFamily and Caroline.
Hugs.
Joy
Oh gosh - hope the swelling goes down! You might need some anti-inflammatory pills...
Dear Rita, it's been four months since I've read your blog postings. Returning and finding that your health is bad--beyond the always bad fibromyalgia--makes me so wish i were in Fargo and could help you out. Please take care and let Dagan and Leah cherish you. Peace.
Oh, Rita. My heart goes out to you. That sounds like such a struggle you're going through right now. Dealing with constant pain is emotionally and physically draining. Take good care of yourself.
