7-28-2020 Tuesday 10:30am

Yes, I am a day late.  I didn't think anyone would even notice, but someone did.  ;)  I was at the clinic again yesterday.  Bladder infection back again.  Not feeling great, obviously.  On antibiotics--longer dose this time.  I had a difficult time with them last time so I don't expect to have any easier time this time.  But--don't worry--I'm going to be fine.
****
Had a visit with McFamily last Thursday and that will have to hold me for a good while.  We had Jelle's Marble Run (YouTube) on with their winter olympics games.  There was a lot of laughter and cheering for teams.  Hard to describe, but here's a pic of the marble curling event--LOL!  So funny!
The boys even were watching while they ate...
...and you can tell Liam is much more comfortable with me--LOL!
He still doesn't want to do hugs, but I'm sure he will one day.
I dearly love these four human beings.
****
The only thing I got done before I got sick again was to finally clear off counters and re-arrange them.  Moved the appliances with their new dust covers from Amazon.  (Yes, Leah gave me both an Alexa and a Hey Google thingie--and I use both of them--LOL!)
I have wanted dust covers since I moved here.  I'm using the pandemic and not being able to go to Joann's for fabric as an excuse to finally just buy them.  (Ignore the fact I have had five years to sew my own--LOL!)   Anyways, this was exciting to me.
Now I don't have to spend so much time cleaning the dust off the appliances before I can use them--hehe!
****
That's it from here.
****
Not sure when I'll be back to chat.
****
Everything going on in the world has been highly stressful for me...and you know I do not like to spread negative energy out into the world.  There's more than enough of it to go around right now.  I've always gone very quiet when I haven't anything good or positive to say.  Losing my optimism and laughter is a very rare thing.  Well, I haven't totally lost it yet, but it has been harder to blog sometimes than it used to be.
****
A deep sadness for our country has been slowly engulfing me.  I had been feeling like I needed to step back...take a kind of spiritual retreat...a news and computer break...and now I am actually sick...so perfect timing, I guess.  One of those be careful what you wish for things, eh?  LOL!
****
So, till we meet again...be kind, listen, do good when you can, be patient, love your neighbor, appreciate friends and loved ones...and vote.

Your family visit looks like it was fun. Like you, I am not writing a lot about current events, so sad. I want to see our dear USA be united and love prevail. Be well friend.

So glad you had a family visit! Liam will come around, I'm sure. Funny marble event lol. // I'm disgusted and sad with what's going on in our country. I decided I would blog good things and leave out all that other junk. We just lean on the Lord here and His love helps immensely! We know He's still in the mix. Everyone deals with it in their own ways, and if you need a break, we are still here, keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Sending you love and cyber hugs and blessings for your days, Rita! Hoping you feel well real soon!! 🙏 ❤️

I'm sorry the bladder infection is back but hope this longer course of meds does the trick. Those appliance dust covers make a world of difference. The little family is a joy to behold. I know you miss closer contact, but at least these days there's video visiting.

I heard part of Barr's congressional hearing this morning, and I'm watching Biden's speech on his Build Back Better economic recovery plan now. I worry more if I don't keep up with the news lol

Both Alexa and Google? What will Siri say? Or Cortana?

Sorry to hear you have another bladder infection. I hope the antibiotics help and that you feel better soon.

I have both Echo Dot (Alexa) and a couple of Google Nest speakers. They come in very handy. :)

I worry about the state of the world too, as you know. I pray that better times will come.

Stay safe and get well.

Love and hugs,
Serena xo

I am sorry the current state of the world is making you feel despondent. You are not the only one, believe me. I have been reading blogs this evening and many of us are depressed and angry and tired of it all. If only we could do something! Hang on, you can, of course. I beg you, do everything you can to rid the world of this moronic monster, otherwise the whole globe might go up in flames. Our own mini version of Trump is doing his best to follow in his footsteps.

A visit with the family is always nice, I saw all 3 of my girls on Saturday & Sunday, Monday & Tuesday I only saw 2 of them and both grandsons, I am blessed,

Bladder or UTI's are horrible as seeing my daughter suffer reminded me

Hey - will Alexa and Google talk to each other? Wouldn't that be funny to hear.

You rest up and take care of yourself. Sometimes we just need a break from things and the way this year has been going it seems like nothing is easy anymore. Take care of yourself Rita!

So sorry to read about your bladder infection returning. I hope the new meds help.

I've never had covers for my appliances, but I don't keep any on my counter, except my can opener, which I use all the time, so it gets wiped down before it can get dusty. And my coffee maker is busy 24/7, so it's ALWAYS dirty (grin). I think you will like your dust covers, though.

It's always great to visit with McFamily. Liam seems to be getting used to you, too.

We all go through dark days during this lockdown. You just have to find something positive and not stress about what is going on in the world. And YES, we MUST vote this year, as if our lives depend on it, because in my opinion, it DOES.

You are the second person in as many days to have told me of the same infection, and I hope that both of you will be feeling better with antibiotics. Glad to read about the family visit and hopefully it son’t be long before the next. Your feelings of despondency are shared by many others now, including myself at times. It’s why I don’t spend hours watchung the current newscast, just a read online every morning for me. It’s hard to find some cheerfulness in the world, some days, but it’s also important not to let it get feeling so bad. But not feeling well doesn’t help.
The new appliance covers look nice. We don’t have enough counter space to keep ours out, so they stay on the pantry shelf, uncovered.

Hope you're feeling better soon and will feel more like blogging again. A little break from everything might be what you need. Stay safe.

So sorry to hear you are sick again. I know how you feel about the state of the world and especially our wonderful country. I just voted in our state's primary. All of our voting is by mail, and it's perfectly safe. I look forward to hearing from you feeling better, friend.

This has been a completely insane year and I hope we never see another one like it. It's best to avoid the news as much as possible - - it only serves to cause depression and perpetuate anxiety.
I've been watching lots of movies (and documentaries)lately. You're fortunate to have your family. Take care.

Dear Rita, so sorry that once again you need to deal with all the symptoms of an antibiotic regimen. I wonder if you ever know a day without pain. It always affects me spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. You too?????

As to taking time off from blogging or television news, etc.,. I so understand that. Off and on in the past few months, I've had to do that. For me, stress brings on Meniere's symptoms and they leave me unable to do much of anything. So, as the Meniere's specialist who did the operation back in 2007 told me: "Keep you life as stress-free as you can." And so I do!

John Lewis believed that our country will survive this time. And I trust him both in life and in death. Peace.

I'm so sorry you're feeling low Rita, and being sick must make it harder. I think it's a good idea to avoid the news. It's strange but I feel more optimistic about America than I have for a while, now there is the prospect of change.

I have been really struggling as well with what's going on in the world - the civil unrest, COVID-19, cancellation of so many activities and events...it's just too much. Hoping 2021 will be significantly better than 2020.
