A "before" shot--when the wooden pillow still had its thin rope handle.
Now gone. Destroyed. Chewed through. But it hasn't deterred her love for her special pillow one bit--hehe! ;)
These are shots from this morning. We are supposed to have scattered showers for the next three days, so they might not be back until Monday--and they left it like this. Talk about taking up almost the whole parking lot!
And so deliberately! Piles of shingles packs and wooden palettes keeping dibs for them on places they aren't even using.
And they left all this on purpose so all those handicapped spots can't be used.
Still using half the parking spaces behind the one garage...
...and now all of the spaces behind the other one.
These are a little blurry due to the wet window pane.

You'd think I'd be having dreams about tossing trucks and machinery and palettes into the empty field--ROFL! Hey--I can do anything in my dreams. ;)

Been washing clothes the last couple days--things like blankets, throws, sheets, and comforter. Switching over to the warmer ones for winter.

FYI--I never got a bill from Merit Care last month (jaw surgery people who said they were turning me over to a collection agency). I have the check sitting there for last month and another one for this month. Just going to wait and see what happens, I guess. Maybe they're writing me off? Who knows?

Oh! Talk about a spirit lifter!! I won some coffee! :):)

You know how Caroline and I read the mystery series paperbacks? Well, one of them is set in a coffee shop. I went to the author's website, Cleo Coyle, and signed up for her newsletter. She gives away coffee every week and I won this week! You can see here--scroll down and you'll see me listed as a winner:
http://www.coffeehousemystery.com/
She also posts sinfully sweet recipes for muffins, tarts, pies, and such. Comfort foods that go great with...coffee, of course. ;) She has some recipes in the backs of each book, too.
I've never heard of Kafe Lespwa coffee. Should be a treat to try some exotic beans, eh? I still can't believe I won!! :):)

That's it on this dark rainy day. No leaking in my bathroom--but the rain has been very light so far. Stay dry! Have a good day, what's left of it. ;)

Well, as long as Karma still likes her pillow, that's all that matters. :)
Glad you've had no leak issues... Hope it stays that way.
That's really inconsiderate of those guys. They shouldn't do that... Especially not with the handicap places! I bet they'd be the first to complain if someone did that and it affected them and their access to their usual parking spots!
Congrats on winning the coffee compatition thing... I don't do coffee, but as long as you enjoy it then that's all that matters!
Be interesting to see them get fined. I don't think they could talk their way out of it...
Congrats on the coffee winnings! I bet it tastes really good (free stuff is always better huh?)
As for the string on the pillow - I was thinking it was for Karma so she could carry the pillow around if she wanted - but perhaps this is her way of saying its "staying right here" on "her" sleeping chair?
I got another string for her... if she changes her mind... and you know cats... they never do that, do they? :)
Rita, I drove by yesterday and the little rectangle accent pieces up on the roof and the tops of the eves(I think that's right), the peak of the roof are still not done on your building. So, once they finish that, I would hope you'll be leak free.
Why would they leave it unfinished and move on anyway, I have no idea...
Why would they use ALL(alright, almost all) of the parking spots when they aren't there, I have no idea...
They are jerks? Possibly, I mean is it really necessary to leave such small piles of stuff in so many parking spaces? They couldn't consolodate? Really?
Then again, what do you expect from a place that refused to shovel/snow blow the fire escape sidewalks last Winter? They aren't exactly going to choose the best company.
Thank you kindly,
Leah
Karma knows a good thing when she sees it. (or is that...sleeps on it)
Where are the building's management people who are supposed to be looking out for their residents? Someone needs to shake some sense into that roofing and siding company and get them to move their stuff so people can park near the building and use the handicapped facilities they were intended for. (unbelievable) I'm glad you haven't had anymore leaks. I hope that's still the case when the rain stops.
Congrats on winning the coffee!
I loved today's quote. I hope you're having a good day.
Congratulations on your coffee win, mmmm I love coffee. I was pouting while looking at your rain pictures, we need rain so badly here, there is a chance we might get a little Sunday. Who ever owns those apartments are doing a poor job to allow the workers to park in the handicap spots like that, and I guess that goes for the owner of the work company as well, thats a shame. I hope you have a good day!
Maybe the string was in Karma's way and that's why she chewed it off. LOL!
Hi Leah!!
:)
Hi Karl! :)
Long time no post, for me that is, been busy, and mostly scanning the blog in order to stay aprised of the goings on. :)
I agree with what you said though about them getting fined, Rita, you should call the cops and complain that there are a bunch of construction vehicles in the handicaped spaces. They'd probably send out someone to ticket all of their vehicles, I say serves them right! :)
Just another 2 cents from me...
Thank you kindly,
Leah
Thanks everybody! The inconsiderate roofers are back this week (It's Tues). Sorry I am behind on responding.
Tori--I am a coffee junkie--hehe! Need my leaded coffee in the morning.
Iggy--Karma would just eat the string--hehe! Probably not good for her and she doesn't really like her pillow moved, anyways. She seems to love it right there on her snoozing chair. :)
Leah--I think it's pretty obvious they took the lowest bidder--hehe! I hope they get done soon!
AliceKay--The coffee arrived Monday. I need to post a picture! ;)
Lynn--I wish we could send the rain your way. Maybe we did? It hasn't rained for a few days up here now. ;)
Sue--Karma absolutely loves chewing strings. She needs no reason. I can't believe it took her this long--hehe!
