Monday-5pm

Karma enjoyed her packing paper castle...
...for a few days.
The mess drove me nuts, so her castle is gone now.
I've wanted to talk about the Consciousness Cleanse class, but I have honestly just been too tired to focus. Haven't been sleeping well for a few days. I'll be glad when I get back on days. I need to get over to the dentist's office to sign the release form this week. *sigh* Wasn't happening today. Maybe tomorrow.
****
Anyways, Monday--I started my new book today. There are 81 verses of the Tao to read--each one followed with an essay by Wayne Dyer. Looks interesting. I watched his special on PBS about this book and it was a good one! :)
Not much happened this past weekend. I did trim Karma's grass because it was turning yellow on the tips. It is probably on its way out. The grass always dies. (It's actually seeds like barley, oats, etc.)
I have the cuttings drying on the counter, of course. Saving them for adding to handmade paper pulp. ;)
Walking past the grass clipping reminds me of spring and throws me into terrible paper making nostalgia. Maybe Leah and I can do some of that this spring! :)

Speaking of spring...
It has been in the 30s and low 40s for a few days. I took some pictures of the parking lot when I woke up this afternoon.
It's a mess out there.
Lumpy, bumpy driving...
...our usual lake where we have no drainage...
...and I thought I'd show you the good old roofer's machinery.
Not 15 minutes later I could hear a plow...
...trying to push the ice and slush out of the way a bit...
...so maybe it won't about knock the underside of your car out at night when it all freezes into deep ruts. Very nice of them!
At night when the temperature drops it's a skating rink out there.
****
Well, if I'm lucky, I am hoping to sleep at least part of the night tonight. I am groggy tired, but that is not always enough. Wasn't yesterday--hehe!
I hope you had a great start to the week. :)

Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Stay off of that skating rink.

I look forward to hearing more about your classes.

I used to make paper - 30 or so years ago - what recipe do you use?

I lived in a place at one time that had a huge puddle (lake) in the middle of the parking lot every time it rained/snowed. One day somebody stuck an official looking NO FISHING sign in the middle of it. Landlord was not amused, everyone else thought it was hysterical.
Spring is coming. At least that's the rumor.

I found some wonderful stuff that helps me sleep - I'm really sensitive to medications - especially sleep medication - but I've been taking Melatonin (found it in the vitamin section). I bought the lowest dose and cut it in half and it's just enough to make me fall to sleep without feeling groggy or drugged. The pharmacist recommended it and so far so good!!

I hope you manage to get some decent sleep soon. *Hugs*

Yes, Spring is coming... Honest!

Oh it is a messy thaw here too, and to think we have at least two more months of slop and freeze before it completely clears up. Hope you sleep well tonight, with sweet dreams and everything! Have you tried making yourself a packing paper fort? Karma certainly makes it look restful.

Gotta love Wayne Dyer! I can honestly say he changed my life. Hope you get a lot out of his book. I became a member of Hay House Radio online just so I can listen to his stuff in the archives whenever I want.

Deanna--We just use paper and water in a blender and have the pour mold by Arnold Grummer. We recycle all kinds of papers from junk mail to packing paper. Then we have all kinds of additives from various dried plants to glitter. Been probably over a year since we played making paper. Leah and I were using up some old thin red paper I had from years ago that was too thin to use for card making--recycling it into red handmade paper for Christmas cards. Maybe we can finish up that project this summer? :)

Barb--that is hysterical! I wish I had a no fishing sign!!

Donna--I tried melatonin a couple years back when I had such trouble sleeping due to menopause. Didn't work then--but nothing probably would have--hehe! Might be worth trying again now that I hope I've left most of that hormonal craziness behind. ;) Thanks!

Tori--You, too! :):)

Tatty--Yup! We have a couple more months, for sure. I think my whole apartment is my own packing paper fort. ;)

Barb--Long time!! :) I always watch Dyer's specials when they have the pledge weeks on PBS. He is an excellent speaker and funny, too! I think I'll enjoy this book and CD. So glad to hear from you! :) :)

You still have quite a bit of snow and ice out there to melt off. Ice skating rinks without skates on can be dangerous, so be careful out there.

We have a lot of ice around here, and yes a little snow, but it's been melting some. It's supposed to be in the mid 50s Friday afternoon with possible showers. Wouldn't you know...this weekend is the Winterfest out to Camp Brule and dog sled races are scheduled. They've had to cancel those a couple of years due to lack of snow, so I hope they don't have to this year. They have more snow out there than we do because they're in the middle of the mountains, so maybe they can run them anyway. I think I posted pictures last year that Terri took while he was out there for the event. Camp Brule is the Boy Scout camp in Sullivan County.

I hope you were able to get a decent amount of rest since you posted this. *hugs*

Rita, I lived in North Dakota for 5 years in the 80's. No one can even imagine how cold it is there and how long the winters are. Hang in there. Terah

I'm sorry to hear your sleeping is all whacked out. I woke up at 2am and that was it for me too. I need to go back to my "Blue Light Special" with the cloudy days back again.

Hugs!

AliceKay--Whoohoo! 50s sounds like summer--ROFL! ;) I hope they will be able to do the dog sled races.

Terah--I think the actual air temps are colder up in International Falls in Minnesota, but we sure do get the wind here! Took a while for me to get used to that when I first moved here. Seems like you could count on one hand the number of still days we have in a year. But after I had been here for a few years, I can't imagine living where the air isn't moving. I actually grew up in Minneapolis, so the winters don't seem any longer to me--LOL! But you really do have personal knowledge when I speak about the weather--hehe! ;)

Jeannie--Sorry to hear your sleep is out of whack, too. Mine seems to go in cycles that never end. I hope your light has been working. :)

Karma is so funny with the paper castle my cat would love that lol That snow does look like it would be dangerous after it freezes overnight, be careful :o)

Lynn--Funny how cats love to feel like they're hiding. ;)
The melting and freezing does that every year. Ice! Ice! I walk slowly with grippy, thick rubber-soled shoes. ;)

Wow... it sure doesn't look too spring-like there...

And yeah, that paper mess around the Karma pad would drive me nuts too...

Iggy--It looks like spring to me right now when it's below zero again--hehe!
Ya! I only can stand the various messes I allow Karma to have for just a few days. But I think she appreciates it. ;)
