Wednesday-3:30am

A pastel morning yesterday.
Okay. Like you don't see enough of Miss Karma--LOL!
Karma being next to me on the loveseat affords me the opportunity to just reach over and pet her. A novelty position--rather than her tucked under my laptop table while I scratch her behind the ear.
What cracks me up is this is a cat who did not like her belly or chest touched, let alone rubbed!
Now she quickly flips her belly out and turns her motor on...begging for a belly rub!
Purring violently...
...and listening to every word of my sweet talk.
This is the same cat who threatened to bite me if I touched her stomach! ROFL!
The mysterious Karma mind.
****
Yes. Been feeling a little guilty (lazy) about doing my simplest version of the SOAR journal...so I drug out my little art journal and worked on a couple more background spreads.
Used a couple of the plastic templates and this one is in walnut...
...and gold.
This one I used a mesh and that sequin remnant stuff (can't remember what they call it).
Used the two reddish mister shades I have.
This one is much pinker but I can't remember now which was which anyways--LOL!
I am starting to make it around the clock a little bit more. Don't know why it is taking so long this time. I'll probably be able to just stay awake until Caroline leaves this afternoon, so I emailed Dagan and Leah to cancel again this week for tonight. :( But, as you can see, Karma and I are okay. Just following that different drummer these days...who happens to be awake all night long, the little drummin' bugger! ;)
****
Sadly, they're talking more freezing rain today.
I pray everyone is safe out there on the roads.
****
Which reminds me, when Caroline comes today--if I am up to it--I'm going to ask her to help me bring the acrylics and supplies in from the storage area. Even if I don't see any more of those online classes, I would still like to try a sky now. I also have things I'd like to experiment with in my art journal, too. In most of the youtube videos I watch the people use acrylics. So, if I am not on the verge of passing out standing up... :)

Dear Rita and Miss Karma:

Once again, what a joy to see you both (even if just your petting, tummy-rubbing hand). Karma, how did you get to be so beautiful and be able to touch souls at such a great distance away from where you are? I am so pleased to hear you're allowing Rita to get really, really close these days and that you're both enjoying these precious moments together. Rita, your artwork is lovely and your pleasure in creating each design is tangible right across the great oceans as well. You two are a really special team!

I love your SOAR journal! I hope you didn't take what I say as negative! IT really helps me. Fancy, not fancy it don't matter.

I woke up today and refresh your page like I don't know how many times on my Kindle Fire. Then after I finally got up and around a bit here you are!

I truly believe one should tell others how they feel about them etc. SO, I have been wanting to let you know...

I really like you. I think IRL we could be amazing friends. I look forward to your blog and miss it when you don't post. I love hearing about Karma. Dude loves her too. He says she's PURRRRTY ;)
You have an a amazing energy and spirit and I thank you for sharing yourself with others. Writing on a blog is not easy. The whole world sees it unless you make it private and you and I don't. Keep it up and know THIS gal loves hearing from you!

Silly Karma, LOL!

Did you get the things out of storage?

That drummer is terrible for being up all night, isn't he? ;)

I can see the pleasure and joy in Karma's face at being petted and fussed over. She's definitely a wonderful companion. And the sunrise? Beautiful!

You are opening up your creative side, and it's so nice of you to share your journey. :-)

Another amazing sunrise shot. :)

I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of Karma. She has such a great personality.

Sometimes drummers just need their own beat. I hope you're getting enough rest.

*hugs*

Desiree--Oh, sweet lady! I keep thinking of beautiful Bonny! Makes me want to cuddle Karma (but she won't let me for more than a few seconds--LOL!). So sorry for your loss, but so glad we connected this past year!! Big hugs to all the rest of the pack!! :):)

Beth--Thanks so much. Karma likes me better than any other human and I like her better than any other cat--LOL! I hope you have a great day!

Trisha--My goodness, Girl! Thanks so much!! I kind of have to keep my SOAR journal pretty simple or I wouldn't have a chance in h*ll to keep it up for a whole year--LOL! I'm glad if it's helped. Simple can be just what you need sometimes. ;) I like you, too, and really hope you are smiling and dancing soon!!! :):)

Carol L--Even if this SOAR journal is mostly cut and paste--just being looser is a good thing for me. My art journal is also a whole new experience, too. Art teachers have always told me--loosen up! LOL! Well, I'm trying. ;)

Nikki--Ha! I discovered the belly rubbing is only when she's in the mood--LOLOL! Typical Karma. It is nice having her closer where I can actually see her instead of under my laptop table--hehe! ;)

Jeannie--I'm just learning with the misters. I still have too heavy a hand, I think. But--Caroline did help me move stuff--tada! Pictures to come! :)

Theresa--I'm hoping that just maybe Karma might now let me comb that big furry belly--ROFL! We'll see. ;)

Nezzy--Yup! That motor was running! She makes these almost chirping noises of happiness.
I hope I can paint one of these sunrises one day (that I can stand to look at--LOL!). Have a super day, sweetie!! :):)

Nancy--Greetings and welcome!! I shall check out your blog forthwith! Glad to meet you. :)

Friko--So funny! I can still only get more personal with the tummy rubs when she's in the mood...or it will not be tolerated. Well, she wouldn't be Karma other wise. ;) Have a great day!!

Tori--Yes! Got the acrylics and supplies--two boxes worth--into the apartment yesterday. That Caroline is a peach! :):)

Djan--Those pictures--they're the ultimate contented Karma. :):)
I have always tended to be very controlled with my paint or drawing attempts. I've been trying to break through some inner barrier these past few years...little by little. Seems like the painting and spraying and ink blobbing in my little art journal has been some kind of catalyst! :):)
Have fun out in that big wide world today, sweet lady!! And take pictures with the new camera! ;)

Lynn--LOL! Yes, I think as soon as she gets used to everything else about the new love seat that this might be her favorite thing about it! ;) *hugs back*

AliceKay--I have a collection of sunrise shots for when I attempt to paint one, don't I? Now if I just had the talent--LOL!
I think Karma's much better, but she still isn't eating much and is still jumpy. I didn't think it would take her so long to adjust--LOL! Of course, my body is still adjusting and complaining loudly about the new positions and the acrobatics of pushing the foot down (Caroline laughed when I showed her)--so I suppose Karma still being off shouldn't be any surprise, either. We're adjusting. And I am sleeping pretty well, thanks. Hope you're doing well over there, too. Happy Thursday! :):)

Dear Rita,
Desiree's comment reflected so well what I was feeling as I read your posting. Cat's stomachs are sacred places that they allow few to touch. In my mind, you and Karma have reached a new understanding of one another's being. This is a bend in the road to new vistas of your relationship. How wonderful.

Peace.

Rita said...

Dee--Karma must consider her feet sacred places, too--LOL! It is funny that she has changed her mind (on occasion) about her tummy after almost seven years. Karma considers it a great honor indeed. ;)

Put yourself in Karma's position. Would you want someone's cold hands rubbing your belly? And maybe giving little electric shocks too?

:) I'm glad you got all your goodies moved in!

Rita said...

Iggy--Not to mention invasion of her personal space--LOL! ;)
I have my work cut out for me, don't I? Lots and lots to do. Keeps me out of trouble, though. :)

I hope you get back on days soon. I've been sleeping all the time lately...day and night. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. My husband is worried about me and wants to go with me. Sometimes he goes to my appointments with me unless it's one of those awkward girlie ones. I think this time he has some things he wants to ask the doctor. He thinks they should try some new things or have me see some different doctors. It's really cold out though... like 50 below and I hate to go out in that.

Your journal and the use of the mesh to add different patterns to the pages turned out really nice, Rita! You are so creative!!

Rita said...

Donna--50 below! Brrr! I hope the appointment went well. Sometimes it is really good to have somebody else with, especially when you feel foggy brained, because they might remember things better. ;)

Anna--Oh, thanks so much!! I've been enjoying the playtime. :)
