Tuesday-10:45am

Yup--still sick.
But better than last week.  :)
Leah was feeling so crummy that they moved their Thanksgiving to Sunday.  (You know how Moms don't get sick days.)  So we had our private little Thanksgiving last night.  Dagan texted me an offer to come and pick me up after work.  I haven't started the Paseo for months so I said I should probably drive it.  Are you sure, he says.  It's snowing and expected to snow all night.
****
I close the blinds when it gets dark and it was dark really early.  I think I closed the blinds about 3-3:30pm--and there was no snow then.  Those of you who know me know I don't watch the news...don't even have regular television anymore in the first place and watch shows online.  I had no clue.  I ran to go look and it was snowing alright...and the little Paseo is absolutely terrible on snow and ice...so I texted him back and enthusiastically agreed to a ride.  :)
****
As I waited on the bench in the entryway I noticed that at 5ish at night there was not one footprint in the snow in the front of our building.  Yup.  I live in a senior building now.  LOL!
Somebody has a little outdoor tree on their patio.  How pretty!
It really is like a different world here.  Love it!
****
With this snot-brain I am lucky I remembered to take any pictures at all, to be honest.  I grabbed a couple pics as Leah...
...and Dagan were setting the table.   Leah got out the beautiful plates, dinnerware, and glassware she inherited from her mom.  Special!!
So that's what I have to show this week for T Stands For Tuesday!  Crystal goblets!  Whoohoo!  (Got to change up from my usual red thermal mug of coffee once in a while.)
****
Ian was trying to put all three of his plastic Ikea utensils in his mouth...seemingly quite amazed that Gramma was at his house...and was taking pictures.  (I really need to get well so I can go visit regularly again.)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and a fantastic time!  Not counting the actual move or my family's visit in October I think I have only been out twice since I started packing in May.  That's too much being home even for me--LOL!
****
So Miss Karma was beyond delighted that I was home again.  Those are empty Target bags (Leah sent home leftovers and a tabletop tree they haven't used for a long time) and my red shoulder bag Karma is rolling and rubbing her head on.
The cup I used to bring home coffee I was drinking (they don't drink coffee) leaked all over my bag so I had to empty it right away when I got home.  (I've never washed it before so I have my fingers crossed.)
I doubt it was the coffee that was getting her all excited.  My bet is the individually wrapped mint lifesavers that had been in there--ROFL!  (Karma LOVES catnip...needless to say after her making a fool of herself over peppermint lifesavers, I suppose.)
****
She got ahold of the package the mint flavored braces wax I am using on my broken tooth a couple days ago and I had to take it away from her because she was literally eating the paper!
Silly girl!
****
Anyways, we were greeted with all this beautiful, sparkly whiteness this morning!
The winter sounds are back!  People were out scooping snow away from their garage doors and scraping it off their cars.  There was that rumbly, padded, near-squeaky sound of a good layer of fresh snow beneath tires and feet.  Plows were busy.
There were some little birdie prints on the patio.  Sparrows, I think.
And a plow already came through on the walkway since I took the first pictures.  A truck!  They drove a truck with a snowplow on the front right up and down the sidewalk!  That can't be good for the lifespan of that concrete, eh?  But I have to admit it worked like a charm and a runner with a big dog has already whizzed by.  :)
Well, I may have gotten the envelopes addressed but I have yet to begin on writing out Christmas cards and letters.  It's the snot-brain, folks.  What can I tell ya.  I will get to them.  I will call the dentist one day and get this broken tooth fixed or pulled.  I do have faith that this super virus will eventually tire of me...of us.  We all will be well again.  Eventually.  I'm glad little Ian has had a lesser version and Dagan has never gotten it.  Oh, and I am as thrilled as Karma with mint to be looking out at the snow!
Happy Tuesday!!  :):)

Your crystal is lovely -just the thing for a special occasion. I'm impressed with that patio Christmas tree. Very festive :)

We hardly ever get snow, so I'm excited to see yours. We've had dreary rain for days with highs in the 50sF. yuck.

Glad you were able to celebrate Thanksgiving even if a few days late. It's the people that matter anyway, not the date, right? So special to use Leah's Mom's dishes. We have evaded any snow so far, but I think it will be coming by Christmas! Happy T Day!

So glad to hear at least Dagan "dodged the bullet." I feel extremely fortunate that I didn't get it from the grandsons or hubby. I hope my luck continues throughout the season. I think my biggest risk is mass on Sundays. It might seem rude, but I apply sanitizer at least once while in church - LOL!

We're headed to Chicago this weekend. I understand they're due to get 1-2 inches of fresh snow tomorrow, so we might also see some of the white stuff soon. That should put us in the holiday mood! :)

I love your photos today - the snow, the family and Karma of course! I love that you use the word seniors -far more dignified than pensioners or elderly! BTW What are mint life savers? Karma definitely likes them! Chrisx

Your Thanksgiving photos are wonderful. :) The dishes look great. I so wish I had remembered to take pictures at my sons. The table was so pretty and she had found these adorable copper foil plates at Target that looked great with the center piece and were throw aways so less dishes to do. Ian is getting so big ♥

oh my goodness...I am not ready for the white stuff! you seem to be taking it in stride...well, at least as long as you have a driver! ;) hope you feel better soon! happy T day!

Loved your funny report today. Sorry you are still feeling bad, but glad you didn't have to drive yourself with the snow. Looks like you had a beautiful and elegant Thanksgiving meal. Karma must have really missed you, funny that she loves peppermints - my cat loved them too. Have a good week, get well soon, and happy T day, hugs, Valerie

Snow, oh my. Glad you had a ride and was able to have dinner with Ian and family even you aren't feeling 100% yet. And the crystal glass made it all so special for the tea party today.

Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. Sounds like you are in a much quieter, more peaceful building now which is nice. The tree lit up in white lights was so pretty. What a nice gift to everyone who sees it during the dark nights of winter. Hope you're able to get to the dentist soon and have your tooth repaired.

oh yes Rita- I too am dealing with snot brain! Mostly coughing though-no fun either way. Hope you are feeling better. Glad you were all able to enjoy Thanksgiving -even if it wasn't on the actual day. It really is special to have handed down table accessories to set a table with for special occasions. And OMG-snow!!! Oh no! Please keep it out your way. Ian is really growing. And that Karma-I can only imagine the pleasure she gives you with her antics ! Wishing you and yours to be well soon and a happy T day!

Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life today. I loved looking at the photos of where you live and the snow. (We still have cloudless skies and brilliant sunshine.... not that I'm complaining!) I have been following your blog ever since you moved (which is not that long ago) And I'm really sorry that you are 'snot-brained'. I hope you feel better soon.
Your cat Karma is quite a character. (and beautiful too).
So sweet of Dagan to pick you up and treat you to a lovely family meal. Little Ian has grown!

Thank you for visiting earlier,
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

the fresh snow sure looks pretty -especially if you don't have to get out in it. :) glad you were able to go to dagan and lea's for dinner, though. :)

Bummer about still being sick! We got a little snow...about 4 inches of heavy wet stuff...and freezing rain. yuck!
Happy T day!

ps...Ian is getting so big and I love those curls! Jacob had curls like that too...so sad when I cut his hair and they didn't come back. ;( Although now that he's older his hair gets slightly curly at the ends again.

Glad you were feeling well enough to go to Dagan and Leah's for a belated Thanksgiving. I woke up Friday morning with a cough and a fever. Cough is still around, but the fever finally left yesterday.

I remember my cats loving anything mint, especially if I left a piece of gum (still in the wrapper) laying around. A couple of times I found a piece with the ends all chewed up, lol.

Even though you were not feeling well, I'm SO glad you got to spend time with Dagan, Leah and Ian for Thanksgiving. Glad to see the goblets, too.

I saw where you are blanketed with snow. So, please stay warm and safe. Thanks for sharing your lovely Thanksgiving dinner and goblets, as well as your snow with us for T this Tuesday.

Ian is an angel. Untouched snow is beautiful, but I'm glad it's 71 degrees at almost 10 p.m where I live.

Love,
Janie

You might think about going to the Doctor with your snotbrain:) You have been sick for quite some time...I looked back since November 10, that is quite a while you might need some help getting over it. I am glad you got to get out for a family dinner...that Ian is so cute! He makes all us old ladies smile:)

I am also glad you are getting better every day. It's awful to be sick, but think how wonderful you'll feel once it's all behind you. Love the Thanksgiving pictures, and little Ian. Oh, and Karma of course. :-)

It really is lovely to hear you are charmed by your new residence, by the pictures, it looks to be soooooo much better, and well cared for. Loved the little tree on the patio.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! The maple leaf coasters on the dinner table are cute.

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. There are a lot of bugs going around. Get well soon!

I know what you mean about the winter sounds, LOL. We woke up to the sound of a snowplow Monday morning. I may be ready for the holiday season, but I'm not ready for winter. Oh well, I have no choice. :)

Take care!

The snow looks pretty - but oh so cold! That is a great apartment complex you are in now! I love it! So glad you were able to have a belated Thanksgiving with your McFamily. I got my Christmas cards in the mail yesterday - so be watching your mail box. ;-) Have a great week and as always, regards to Karma!

I’m sorry to read that you are still poorly, perhaps my bug travelled across to your part of the world via the internet. I was ill for a long time and I still haven’t quite recovered.

I am glad that you still managed a good TG and that little Ian got to see his grandma at his own table.

Best of luck.

I don't drive in bad weather if I can avoid it and we don't get snow at all in this part of Australia but when we have heavy rain I prefer to stay home

It is strange how cats love mint, isn't it. I'm glad you got your Thanksgiving even though it wasn't quite the right time. And this virus sounds really bad. I hope that you are over it very soon, Rita.

Please take good care of yourself, this time of year is easier to get sick than any other. Relax, make a nice pot of homemade chicken soup and rest. Sending you a hug.

Sorry to hear you're still sick, Rita. Get lots of vegetable broth into you. Ian looks adorable! I love the snow photos and that little white Christmas tree is so sweet. I've always wanted a white Christmas tree but have never had one. So nice that you all had Thanksgiving together.

Get well soon....healing vibes headed your way. xo

Is Ian ever growing up.. and so darn cute! That stubborn bug had better hit the road soon. Your Karma reminds me of my old girl, Snag (long departed). She loved everything mint, also (is it related to catnip, maybe?). Back in the day.. waaaay back when I was in my 20s, I used to smoke.. and every now and then I'd smoke menthol cigarettes. And if I forgot to put them away in a drawer, they'd be full of claw and bite marks.. rendering them useless. Which, in retrospect was probably just as well. ;)
