Saturday-9:45am

We actually had a break in the clouds one afternoon.
I do so love these huge white clouds...
...against the blue of the clear (formerly hidden) sky.

Enough to get a person's hopes up, eh?
Twas only Nature's tease.
A short break...
...before we were right back to the gray blanket.
I was thinking this morning that it feels like all my bones are coated with tiny shards of glass.
****
This too shall pass.

If I ever could truly appreciate a surprise gift...wow!
Here came a box from Jeannie in Germany!
She makes the most beautiful...
 ...dimensional cards!
I was blown away on her blog a while ago when she showed these intricate stamps that had been guilded!  I mean, just look at one of the cards she made.  I've never seen anything like this done before!  (Hope you don't mind me sealing the photo, Jeannie!)
Of course--new product--not sold in the US--called FlitterGlu by a company named IndigoBlu.  Well, Jeannie offered to buy some for me and send them to me (she can send it cheaper) so I told her I'd get some of the glue and some flakes--probably in July or August we could arrange it.
****
And what comes in the mail?
 OMG!!
The whole starter kit!!
Wow!
Wow!
Wow!  :)
Thank you, Jeannie!!!!!
****
I only wish I felt good enough to play with it right then...right now.  Soon!  Soon!  You know I haven't been up to snuff when I haven't played with my new gelli plate, taken the Cinch out of the box, touched the new carving stuff...  Between my back and the sciatica...well, been taking it pretty slow and the creative mojo just hasn't been working.
****
They're predicting tomorrow to be "clear", though!  One day of sun, I guess, before they say the rain shall roll right back in.
****
In the meantime...Karma says hi.
Porch is too soaked to be of any interest to her.  She's been staying inside...warm and dry.  Me--I've been keeping up online, anyways.
****
Note: discovered that following by email I don't always get every post, I guess, and they can come a day after--but it is soooo much easier for me, I'll take it.  ;)
****
Been slowly working on letters.  Playing my musical chairs.  Doing my stretching exercises.  Watching lots of shows I've recorded and Netflix movies.  Our local THIS channel has changed to the ME channel which has all kinds of old series.  I have even been watching some old Columbo mysteries and Twilight Zones--getting such a kick out of them!  Lots of PBS Nature and Novas, too.  Been having a good time and Karma's been in a cuddly mood.  (She's like a big, furry heating pad.)  Life is a bit more painful, but it is still good.  :)
****
Have a sweet weekend!!

i didn't like the follow-by-email option because i was always so late to the party. but sometimes my feed gets delayed, too - especially if i 'followed' a blog instead of just adding them directly as a subscription to the reader.

Karma is such a sweetie. I love that pic of her.

That was a wonderful gift from Germany. I hope you soon feel up to working with it.

I hope you get some lovely weather soon, Rita. It's strange the way that grey skies can affect things, and certainly if I am not feeling well then greyness makes me notice it more. The gilding looks beautiful and I hope you're up to creating with it very soon, too.

I hope you are feeling better soon! I know all the rain we've had is affecting me too. Get well, rest up and soon you'll be back to crafting!!! I'm glad I was able to surprise you! Hugs!

You just have to know, Rita, that you touch many people's lives and your attitude in the face of real pain and suffering is a gift to many of us. Certainly to me, since I can't speak for other people. But! I'm so happy to see that others appreciate you, too. Soft purrs to Karma, too. :-)

The clouds are beautiful, no matter if they are white and fluffy or dark and full of rain.

Hello, Miss Karma!

And I hope you feel better and better.

I love lots of white cloud too. The big cumulonimbus clouds are my favourites, but we don't get many here in our shallow Thames valley.
We don't really get very much rain. This is such a shame for me as I am a rain lover!

Wow, what a nice surprise from Jeannie. (she's good at that) :) Hope you have fun crafting once you get to feeling better.

The weather is crazy. I feel so sad for those people going thru all of the tornadoes in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas, and every other state that's been hit lately. And now they have extreme flooding. We've had temps in the 90s but have been pretty lucky as far as severe weather goes, but the forecast for today isn't looking very good.

I hope you and Karma are enjoying your Sunday. *hugs*

You always have the best cloud pictures!

Thank you, Jeannie in Germany. What a nice thing to do. Yet another "random" act of kindness. When you were a little girl, did you lie in the grass with a friend and figure out what shapes the clouds were? Maybe one cloud was an elephant, and another was a house, and yet another was a cat called Karma.

Love,
Janie

Got to love the big white puffy clouds (and the big grey and black angry ones not so much)... it's raining here this morning which is actually a relief since it was in the mid-upper nineties before the rain started and cooled things down!

*pats Karma on the head - hey! feels like it's made from wood! *giggles*)

Ive been on a road trip for the past two days, so I have some catching up to do myself! :) Good to see Karma and your clouds!

I got ticketed for going too fast, to answer your question on my post a couple days ago. He said I was going 70 in a 55 mph zone, but I don't think I was. Then he changed it to 65 in a 55 zone. I still think the 55 speed limit was for TRUCKS with 3 axl or above. Thats what those signs all along the hwy says... trucks limit 55 mph, all others 65. I was just a itty bitty car so I assumed 65 was okay. But my car IS red... so pfft.

What a great gift. Let us know how you like the new product when you get a chance to use it. It is fun to have something new in the "play box" isn't it?

What a wonderful care package. Jeannie blesses so many of us with her kindness, doesn't she. You will eventually feel good enough to play with your new toys. In the meantime, take care of yourself.

Hears hoping that the better weather will make you feel better, all that humidity has to bad for your bones. Give Karma a cuddle for me! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina where you are appreciated for stopping by! ♥

I hope you start feeling better soon, the yukky weather doesn't help does it. We have had cloudy days here too, it tends to make everything and everyone dreary. It's winter here and usually we have perfect blue skies and very little rain but not so far this year. What a lovely thoughtful gift and card you received. When you are feeling better I bet you have a great time playing with that. I remember the old Twilight Zones and Columbo, they were the good old days when TV was interesting. We just get drivel at the moment. Enjoy your snuggles with Karma and I hope the sun comes out and you feel better really soon.
