Monday-3:30am

For some reason it always cracks me up when Karma sits with her front legs crossed like this. Gives her this regal, bemused look. :)
Guess I must be actually missing my blog-every-day mindset. Here I am again. I took a light tan piece of cardstock this time and made another FlowerSoft fall tree.
I am just fascinated by this stuff!
These are the strangest looking tiny pieces of plastic or whatever they are made of.
When you get up really close they look quite spikey, but they are soft and spongy.
I am hooked! It only took a half hour session to make the one card, but I will definitely be playing some more. I have three colors that I have put into small canning jars. They come packed tightly into a plastic container, but you really need to be able to fluff them up, pinch out a bit at a time, and sprinkle. These little 4 oz. jars are the perfect size.

Here's the Autumn I've been using.

Summer.
Maybe on flowers?
And Polar White.
Won't this make great snow on something or other? hehe!
I saw that they now carry some of the colors in a super-fine. Cool!

Oh--my debit card worked on Sunday. Maybe the problem was the computer crashing issues they mentioned? Anyways, I did order some stamps from USPS, my 2011 calendar refill from Barnes & Noble, and some ink and pen refills from JetPens. Nice to have a debit card again. Hope there are no identity fraud issues ever again with all the changes I have made with the computers.
****
Have I started to store my pictures on Windows? Nope. I am still using the Apple system. (Both are on the McLap now.) Why, you may ask? Because the Windows McLap does not recognize my printer. *sigh*
****
You have to just giggle and giggle. It's always something, right? Windows has a very long list of printers for me to chose from, but mine is not listed. It may be too old?! Apparently Windows doesn't believe it could possibly still be alive and kicking? Well, my HP G55 may be 11-12 years old, but it still going strong. Well, going slowly--but it still works--hehe!
****
I bought it "on sale/as is/floor model" from Office Max when I first moved up here to Fargo/Moorhead, but I can't remember if that was right away in 1999 or 2000. The scanner never worked (hence the "as is" notice), but the copier and printer did--and still do. I remember Dagan said it was a good deal even if it just worked for a year or two. I feel nervous talking about it. Me and my electronics don't usually have long relationships, you know? The few that really "get me"--they have stayed around for many years longer than expected. But so many of them flit in and out of my life too quickly--VCRs and computers, specifically, tend to go haywire in my presence. *sigh* And I love them so! Unfair.
****
I didn't realize I'd be talking about my trusty G55. I should have taken a picture of him. He is huge compared to the smaller versions they have now, I'm sure. I'll do that. He certainly deserves his acknowledgement and accolades. ;)

Well, it says 23 degrees for a low and 40 for the high today. The ground is still bare up here in Fargo. I'm going to read for a bit and see if I can catch a few more winks before morning. The week has begun! :):)

3:30 am?! You are up wayyy too early!!

Karma is the queen, that's why she's so regal looking :)

That card looks really cool-- how does it fit in an envelope without flattening it all out? Interesting! :)

Printer and I have never gotten along. I don't know why. They just never want to print anything for me without lines through them. Very annoying!!

That's a great pic of Karma. :)

That FlowerSoft stuff looks really neat. It makes for a great card, too. I bet you'll be using a lot of that white stuff come winter. I'll be waiting for the colorful flowers come spring. :)

I'm glad your debit card worked for you. Modern technology has both good and bad sides to it. I hope you won't have to deal with any identity fraud issues again.

It's 47 degrees and overcast here this morning. Looks like a little mist in the air too. :(

I hope you have a great Monday.

My Dad has a printer that used to belong to me. It was given to me to go with a long since dead laptop when I was 10 years old and given the stuff to do schoolwork on (that was about when the decline in my sight really started). It still works, though takes forever to print anything. That's why Dad has it... I don't print things much these days (and when I do, I just borrow Kelly's printer) and Dad and I didn't have the heart to throw it away. So, he still has it, and - I think - still uses it too!

Sounds like you're having a great time with your card making. :)

The temperature is sticking between about 22 F and 50 F here (lower end of the scale at night, higher end during the day). Enough to make it a little icy, but that's about it. I'm personally hoping snow shows up in a couple of weeks... Just in time for Christmas, like last year! We had snow from basically just before Christmas, on and off until like March (I think it was March?) this past year. That would be nice for this year too!

Nikki (if I have that right Aunt of 14)--My sleeping patterns are all over the place since I got fibro. I think I had been sleeping from 7pm till 1am. Good thing I live alone and Karma doesn't care. The only time it bothers her is when I don't get much sleep for days because then she doesn't get as much sound sleep, either--hehe! ;)
The FlowerSoft is actually squishy. You can press on it and it pops back. So it chould travel just fine in a regular envelope. I just sent the first one off as a thank you to Canada.

AliceKay--I'm going to trust that I am safe now with my card. Changed computer programs, passwords, etc. I better be! ;)

Tori--Wow! Yours is older than mine! I used the heck out of this printer and copier when I was in college all those years and an English Writing major. And it is still going!
Sounds like the temps are just about the same in Wales as here in Fargo! I can't imagine a Christmas without snow!! Talk about depressing! We normally have snow earlier and longer than you do, but occasionally we've had the threat of a brown Christmas--uugghh! ;)

Karma looks great in that picture. Definitely made me smile.

The tree is so pretty! That is interesting stuff you are working with.

Good luck with the printer. It is nice when something works for a long time. They seem to make electronics to last only a few years on purpose.

There is a Windows 7 bit of software for your printer...

You just need to download and install it. :)

I bet Karma is sitting there singing Boy George's best known song in her head...

You know the one...

Yep... that one..

Karma karma karma karma, karma chameleon
You come and go, you come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red gold and green, red gold and green

Karma karma karma karma, karma chameleon
You come and go, you come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red gold and green, red gold and green
Karma karma karma karma, karma chameleon...

I love those trees you are making! Those are soooooo cool!!

Deanna--They really do make them to only last a short time now--on purpose! I watched a show about the new electronics a while back. (Probably PBS--hehe!)

Iggy--Thanks! I will have Dagan look at this link when he comes over tonight.

Yup--now KC will be running in my head for days--ROFL!!

Glad you like the trees! I think they are cool, too. ;)

Love the creativity and color!

Oh Karma....that kitty makes me smile. Love the soft calico colors of her sweet fur.

Unfortunately, we often don't have our snow until just after Christmas. Or, we have a bit in early December, it's gone by Christmas, then comes back in like January or February or something. One year we had a beautiful Summery day on Christmas day... It was so weird!

Parsley--Thanks so much!!
Karma's colors have that dusty look to them. I didn't know what a dilute calico was till I found her. ;)
