Early in the morning it was much cooler yesterday.
Temperature really dropped that night so that I could have the windows open--despite the almost roaring winds.
I'm surprised Karma's ears weren't flattened back--hehe!
She was greatly enjoying her spy position, of course. But it gets very hot during the day and we had to close up early and get the AC going before it warmed up very much. Didn't cool off as much last night, so we had to stay closed up. Predicting lower 90s again today. Sunny and blue skies! :)

In case any of you notice, I had to switch the comments now to be approved before they will post. Since I stopped the verification process I have been getting spam posts for viagra and porn. So, I am going to see how the approval thing works. I don't like having to go back and hunt them down to delete them from 2007 posts. I found out they are sneaky that way--hehe! This should work. I don't mind deleting them if I can do a simple choice--boom--and be done and not have to hunt them down. :)

Being as I have been up all night lately, I was curious as to why they would have "Teen Kids News" on at 3:30am? Strange! I'm working my way around the clock, tho. Made it till 4pm yesterday. ;)

I spent the night last night catching up online, actually. Really got to a lot!! Just didn't feel like making cards. Got going online, was feeling pretty good, and just kept puttering away all during the night and morning. :)

Got into a conversation with an online friend about those times when life gets you down and you just feel soul weary. I know I have had times in my life where I wondered if I could even keep going. It can be love, money, family, health...we all have those times where we feel dried and withered, you know? The main thing I have learned about that empty feeling over the years is to remember:
****
You can feed and water yourself. :):)
****
Took me years to stop looking for nourishment and watering from someone or something.
****
I'm sure you've heard the saying "food for the soul". Well, I think everybody has those things that feed their soul. Something that can lift their spirits no matter what. Whether it's a little uplift or soaring high--it feeds your soul, you know? Whether it's sleeping without an alarm, sitting alone on a hillside, playing music, completing a task well, holding a baby, chopping wood, learning something new, traveling, music, riding a bike, spending time with someone who always makes us feel better, petting your dog, working on a project, volunteering, sports, meditation, ironing, laughing, exercise, singing, painting, gardening, organizing, reading, baking....it doesn't matter what it is or whether anyone else understands or approves...it is the food for your soul. We all know it when we feel it.
****
If we all just went there, did that, practiced that--whatever it is--if we each fed and watered our own souls and took comfort in knowing that we could do our own refueling and how simple it can be...
****
...what a wonderful world this could be.
****
Well...it already is a wonderful world. :)
****
I learned--don't wait for somebody else to feed and water you. Too many people don't know how to feed and water their own souls to be responsible for someone else's, right? ROFL!!
****
My wish would be for everybody to feed and water their soul today. If only for a few soul-soothing minutes. :):)

Karma looking like her sweet, content self. :)
One advantage of keeping my blog private is that I don't get those annoying spam comments.
Very interesting post. In fact, it's very good food for thought. I hope you fed and watered your soul today, too.
By the way...I watched "Avatar" last night and I loved it. :)Excellent movie.
Very thought provoking post...
By the way... Sorry you're now getting all sorts of spam. :(
AliceKay,
I think I spend a lot of time feeding and watering--constant refueling--hehe! I really liked Avatar! What a magical world! Sure had a good villain, too. And love story! :)
Toriz,
I'm not getting a lot--just maybe one a day so far. But they would post way, way back in old posts and you'd have to go find them. If they post anymore--I'll be able to nab them right off the bat--hehe! No worries! :):)
Ahhh... food and water...
...some good mulch and some organic (my old neighbor used to swear by elephant doo-doo from the circus) fertilizer... ..and being a kid again (I'd love to go to the cirsus with someone)...
...and some conversation with someone that has something intelligent to say - goes a long way.
:)
Iggy--elephant doo-doo fertilizer--now I never would have thought of that. If you're going to fertilize, go for the biggest and best!! ;)

Catching up - have barely been online for the last week. My cat is hanging all over me because I barely spent any time with her either, so now she's desperate for attention - such a needy cat! She likes to stand/sit on the back of my computer chair and hang over my left shoulder as I type, so she's making up some of her lost time.
My favorite ways of recharging are to go from walks in the woods by myself, or berry picking in the woods in the fall or walking on the ocean, but since I live in Alaska now, I can't get to the ocean anymore. I still love the woods though.
Sue--I can picture your shoulder cat--hehe! I love the woods, too. I've never lived by the ocean, but visited in Florida on vacations when I was a kid. There's a smell and feel to the salt air, pounding waves, wet sand, blinding sun--never have forgotten. I love our prairieland here in the Midwest, too. Ahhh! Nature!! :)
