December 27, 2021 Monday--1:30pm

Good afternoon!
You know how I like to have current pictures--well, got a couple of older ones to show you before we get into this past week.  Whenever Leah and I go to my infusions now I ask if we can get a cubicle with two chairs so Leah has a comfier place to sit.  She got a picture of me under my warm blanket.  This was the first Big I infusion, I believe.
I also asked her for a picture of the boys' new bunk bed set up from Ikea.  Wow!  Pretty cool!  They've had this for a while now.

Okay--caught up.  :)

Monday
We DID get snow!
I still wasn't feeling well and was still racing to the bathroom.

Tuesday
Woke up to a sparkly white blanket of snow.
Hopeful for a white Christmas for sure!
Weds-Thurs-Fri
The Critter Cafe was busy all week.

But the thing that made me the most happy was seeing the partridges able to make their snow nests!

I love it when they can dig down a spot to be half buried to protect themselves against the wind.
I was on R&R recovering all week--from the vaccine.  I had such bad reactions to the first two it was no surprise.  Was barely able to even work on Christmas cards so a lot of mine will be really late this year because I have to get back to them soon.  It's the thought that counts, right?  As long as you get them before Valentine's Day--LOL!  :)
Saturday
I did make it over to McFamily's on Christmas Day!
Had a most wonderful visit.

The boys love maze books!
Blink can sleep through anything--LOL!
I did have to leave earlier than I had expected.  Sitting in different chairs all day set off the neuropathy in my legs.  But the boys got in their pajamas and we took pics in front of the tree before I left.  Ian's got one front tooth coming in now.
I got sweet hugs goodbye.  Was sad I was going to miss watching Rudolph with them...but by the time I left I had to have Leah help me down the front stairs because my legs were so weak and painful.  Dagan gave me a ride home.

Leah sent me pictures since I missed the movie.  :)
Ian...
...and Liam were enthralled.
Oh, and it snowed all day long on Christmas!!  Snowed last night again, too!  Woke up to a blizzard this morning actually.  It's awful to have to get around in, I know, but--homebound me--I LOVE IT!!
Hard to even get a picture of the Critter Cafe visitors with all the snow stuck to the patio door.

The partridges know right where to dig for seed in the snow...
...and the sparrows appreciate them unearthing those deeper seeds, that's for sure.
The blizzard white-out winds died down a while ago and I was finally able to get pictures of the snowbanks from the parking lot across the way.  When the big plow was out there this morning all I could see were the blurry headlights and flashing lights through a wall of white swirling snow.  But now you can see how much snow they moved about this morning.

They haven't been back of our building to get to the sidewalks on the walkway.  That's always last on the snow removal list.
The patio has a few drifts now.
As I am typing this the partridges have been out there digging down in the snow.  They're happy.  The sparrows are happy.  Annie and I are happy.
Leah plans on coming over this week.  I need trash brought out and bird seed brought in--am not even walking all that well yet.  Regardless, I promised Dagan and Leah I wouldn't do anything like that or climbing stools until I can feel my legs again.  :)  Anyways, we were thinking tomorrow but they are talking more snow...so maybe Wednesday.

Me--I need to get the 2022 bullet together and work on Christmas cards.  That's about all that is on my to-do list this coming week.

Oh my!  Three partridges are just parked in a planter box relaxing out there!  I love that!  I'll try to take a picture for you.

They are so seldom relaxed.  I love to see them hanging out near or on my patio in the winter.  That's the only time I can occasionally see them totally calm like that.

Well, it was a wonderful holiday.  I hope you all had your own special memories.  The new year is right around the corner.  I won't see you before then so I wish you all a very happy new year.  We are all hoping for a better, brighter one ahead.  See you in 2022!!  :) :)

Looks like you had a lovely Christmas with McFamily. I am so glad. I hope the neuropathy in your legs in better now. The snow is beautiful - when you can stay cozy and warm inside. We got some snow in Utah, but we are now in Texas, enjoying warmer temps and blue skies, having a little mid-winter getaway. I hope you have a good week and a very Happy New Year!

It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas with the family. Loved all the pics! Blink looks so sweet. Too bad you had to leave early due to the neuropathy in your legs but nice of Leah to send through some pics of the boys watching Rudolph.

We really enjoyed watching The Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2 again this year as well as our usual favourites.

I'm glad you got snow....and lots of it! So nice to see the Critter Cafe filling up with guests. hehe

Those bunk beds look great!

Don't you be worrying about Christmas cards....we get them when we get them.

Have a very Happy New Year, dear friend. I sure hope 2022 is a good year.

Love and hugs,
Serena xo

I am so glad to hear you were able to get over there for a while at least. The boys sure do look great in their jammies. And it was also so nice to see some pictures with YOU in them! Yay for the Critter Cafe, too. :-)

That's a lot of snow. Thanks for taking such good care of the birds. Be sure to take care of yourself too. No doubt some serious family time was a great tonic and I am glad that you were able to take part.

Great that you were with the McFamily for Christmas. Sorry to hear about the continual issues with neuropathy. No fun. Christmas Day here logged in at 67 degrees (mid-Atlantic)...so definitely no white Christmas. Bizarre. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Wow, you sure did get some snow! It's pretty! I mostly prefer years when we get just a few inches though.
Used to do more, but now only sending 20ish cards. There have been some years I didn't get any out. We don't receive as many either... this year, 12-15?
Sweet photos!
I'm sorry you had difficulty with the vaccine. :(

How great to get out for Christmas. No doubt you really appreciated that. And the cafe is fun. I am kind of jealous of your snow. We have a covering, but we have ice too.

The snow looks spectacular - cold, yes, but I would love to see it more than the wet, drizzly weather we are getting! We get occasional patches of blue that last around 10 minutes and they're gone. Those critters must love being outside your door, even with Annie watching! So pleased you got to Mc Family's place for Christmas Day, although having to cut it short wasn't so good. Lovely photos! Hope you are getting some planning done now. I will have to knuckle down and get things done too - been very lazy just lately, although buoyed up by seeing family yesterday - we had an outdoor meet up, thankfully the rain stopped - it was vey muddy though!!! Take care, hugs, Chrisxx

You DID have a White Christmas! It's very beautiful and I'm glad you were able to spend it with family. It looks like a wonderful day filled with loads of love. And I learned something, too. I had no idea about the partridges and their snow holes! Much joy to you.

Wow - you can send some of that beautiful snow to me. Here in Tennessee it was 65 degrees yesterday. Weird weather!

May your New Year be filled with blessings and all positive things. Hugs to you (and Annie).

Rita, I envy your snowfall, blizzard and all because if and when that happens here in Nashua, NH, we will do the same and stay safe and warm indoors. Nice to see all the visitors to the Critter Cafe too. It's great that you were able to visit McFamily on Christmas, but a bummer about the neuropathy causing you such discomfort and missing Rudolph too! I did receive your beautiful card and letter. Thank you, my friend. I hope that 2022 will be a better and a Happy New Year for you and many others as well.

The snow is beautiful and Peaceful, as long as you don't have to go out into it! ;) Love your photos of those fat partridges!

It was good to catch uop with you even though I am SO far behind. I am glad the infusions are going well and I hope things get better since you don't have to see that evil doctor.

You got LOTS of snow. There is always a calm after a snow storm.

So great to see you were able to spend part of Christmas with McFamily. I'm sure that was a real treat.

Have a safe, HEALTHY, festive New Year and, hopefully, a far better 2022 than you have had the previous two, dear Rita.

I love seeing the partridges at your feeder. There certainly is quite the number of them out there eating food. Looks like a wonderful Christmas with your family! I'm so happy that you were all able to spend time together!!
