July 14, 2025 Monday--5am

Good morning!
Another week full of boxes and packing.
Leah stopped by after work last Monday to bring in more boxes.  She put together a whole bunch of them for me.
I spent the week packing boxes.  Huge progress!
Even taking lots of breaks and working in baby steps for a few minutes at a time...
...here are the pictures of the week in progress.

Allie knows to stay out of my way while I am packing so she finds places to snooze while I work.
When I take breaks she goes off to see what I have done to her home...and she often wanders about crying.
Oh, and Tuesday Keanna wasn't feeling well, so we switched to Friday.
The apartment has been in chaos anyways.
Boxes packed.
Boxes ready and waiting.
Even emptied the wall shelf unit on the left!
And the other three bookcases almost emptied.
Rolling my little cart back and forth in the hallway.
More and more boxes on the "packed" wall...
...but then I realized I needed more floor space for stacking them.  Needed to move my clothes bins off the floor.
Therefore I needed to pack away the top of the folding table on the right side.
Almost done with everything in the studio.
Friday Keanna was still sick and so we switched to Monday--today.  I hope she is feeling better.
TaDa!  Packed away the table top.
Many breaks.

Two more empty bookcases in the studio.
Haven't gotten to those drawer units under the table.
The box wall has been growing.
Got the clothing bins up off the floor.  Packed away what was under the left side table.  All these thing need to go over in the car...printer, printer paper rack, not the sturdiest shower curtain drawers, clothing bins, and all the really large flat stuff under the table (watercolor, specialty paper, etc).

Something exciting ordered!  Whoohoo!!
This is peel and stick wallpaper!
Leah is going to help me put it up under the cupboards in the kitchenette.  I JUST LOVE IT!!!  Talk about a small burst of color!
Finally cleared off the rest of the art table under the window.
All the brushes will have to go over in the car, too.
And the easel (in the black bag with the handle) and oversized cutter, etc, need to go over in the car.
Have very little left to pack that's sitting out in the studio.  Mostly the drawers in the three little dressers is what's left.

Looks so bare and dark.
When I finish in the studio...next I will tackle the two folding tables behind my chair in the living room.  A lot of letter writing and old desk supplies on there.
I plan to go through the bathroom again.  That was the first place I started back when I was sooo hesitant about purging--lol!  I can get rid of more stuff in there, for sure.

I am exhausted, but doing better than I ever expected.  Long story, but it may have to do with taking LubriSyn this past month.  I have less pain than fully expected.  Got more done.  More baby step sessions than I ever expected.  But I am too tired to tell you the story today.  I have gotten a LOT of packing done the past two weeks, though.  Amazing!  Only about two days off a week for pain...that's really surprising to me.

Anyways, right now I am on a longer break again for a day or two.  R&R time.  If you are interested in hearing about how I even heard about LubriSyn let me know and I will do that next week.  I hadn't wanted to say anything because I am leery of thinking things that others say work well for them...well, they don't often work for me, you know?  But this does seem to be working.  It's doing something enough that it is noticeable, that's for sure.  Shock!  Enough that I ordered another bottle--lol! ;)

Haven't heard of a scheduled moving date yet, but I know we were down to two places to get estimates.  McFamily was out of town this weekend for Leah's grandmother's 90th birthday.  :)

I used up the ton of boxes Leah put together for me.  So next thing on the priority list is to put together some more boxes from behind the bedroom door.
A bunch of small ones, I think.  Drawers and tabletops...small boxes needed first.  And I can slow down.  The hardest stuff to pack (that I actually can pack before I move) has been tackled.  Dagan and Leah will help me pack the kitchen, pantry, bathroom, rollie carts and whatever else there is to pack up right before I move.

Oh, and the only things I kept out from the studio are the two new colorbooks along with some colored pencils and markers.  I'm not packing up my rollie carts until the last minute--so I will have drawing pens and lots of letter decorating stuff at my disposal. ;)

Today--Keanna is supposed to come and clean.  (She will be shocked with all the packing I've done!)  Nothing on the agenda but writing letters and watching some excellent escapist streaming.  Right now I am bouncing between Stargate SG-1, Murder She Wrote, and Pie In The Sky.  Resting day.  Yes, I am sore and tired, but not to the level I could be or should have been...she said hesitantly.  Almost like if I say this out loud I might jinx myself.   A day of rest and recuperation...maybe two.  See you next week!!

You really outdid yourself with packing. Now resting seems like a good idea. I expect Allie will be glad of it, too.

Well i won't say it out loud either! :) My goodness though you've made so much progress Rita! wow! And that wall paper! Gorgeous... I cannot wait to see it installed! Off to Big Springs , TX this morning to the VA there.. Eye check up for Alvin... last year they said his cataracts were getting worse.. He hasn't noticed any vision changes though.. Last year we started using Caster oil on his eyes... we did that for about 4-5 months... then just slowly stopped (forgot/lost interest) . The doc did not expect him to make it to this appt ( a full year) before he would need surgery... so i can't help but wonder if the caster oil helped some or at least delayed it?? Would love to hear about the medicine your taking... Ok i'm off to finish my coffee then get ready to hit the road... Hugs! deb

Rita, you have been busy and yes that sure is a lot of boxes which will need to be unpacked in your new home, but then you can take your time. Glad you have so much done and can take some well deserved R&R down time now.

That was another busy week Rita. It’s all coming together. I hope Keanna is feeling better by now. Cute pictures of Allie :) That sure is pretty wallpaper. I am glad this LubriSyn is working for you. I would be interested. You watch the same shows I like to watch except I don’t know Pie in the Sky. I will have to check that out. A very nice read as always and will be looking forward to the next one. Have a great week!
