November 23, 2025 Sunday

Greetings!
Not as productive of a week.  I kind of reached a wall energy-wise before I was done.  But I did end up finishing the remaining boxes before the end of the week.

I like moving cat beds around to new places.
Allie always finds them more appealing when I surprise her--lol!
I worked away on those boxes.
Still had a lot to find places for from on the tables...
...but look what I found!  My large porcelain palette!
Also some other accidentally-in-living-room-boxes art supplies!  My Tombow markers, things off the top of my art table, colored pencils, a bit of watercolor paper, and even a spray bottle. :)
So, you know I will keep this little spot open so that I can play with art supplies while I am on my unpacking break.
You know how tired I was when I could peek in the top of the box with my teapot and couldn't dig into it for two days--lol!
Over those two days...Allie enjoyed her new cat bed spot and...
...SHE LEARNED HOW TO USE THE STEPS!!!  TADA!!
A couple of days later she learned she could also go down the steps from the chair--lol!  There's hope for us old ladies yet, eh?

I finally unpacked the box with the tea stuff.  It also had candle stuff in it, too.
My dear little Yixing clay teapot!  I don't know why I love it so much, but I do.  And I am essentially a coffee drinker--lol!
Anyways, I got the tables cleared off again.  Just a lazy susan that fell apart in the move.  Don't need it anymore so Leah screwed it back together and it went in the donation box.
I managed to get one of the rust-colored art/studio rollie carts out to store the current art supplies for now.
This is what was left to clear out as much as possible...from right...
...to left...
...and on around.

The paper shelves were by the door.
Oh, and I stuck the tea stuff in the living room hutch...along with some books and a box with fountain pens that need to be cleaned.
My plan was for the dehumidifier to be moved into the laundry room for now so I could store the boxes between the doors there.  I don't have a lot of room down here.
This afternoon Dagan came down to help clear out the studio so that it is workable for them to finish up in there.  He moved the dehumidifier into the laundry room (that box on top holds Ian and Liam's Christmas presents)...
...so that we could stack the boxes between the doors.
But when I told him I wanted the paper shelves put into the hutches he was wondering about Leah attaching them to the walls and if that would interfere. He took off to go talk to Leah.  I started moving all the stuff from the corner on to the tables.  Cleared it out...
...and snapped these pics...
...before he got back with Leah.
He helped me move a couple heavier black boxes (into the rollie cart) and the box of my brushes.
This will be my play spot while on break.
Glad to see my brushes!  I had them moved in the car and not by the movers so they are available now.
Leah said it was okay to move the paper shelves into the hutches because she attaches to the wall at the top.  Things were shuffled around.  When they left...this is what it will look like now for a while.  Left to right.  (Turns out I am going to donate one of the paper shelves because I couldn't use it in the living room hutch, as I thought.)

They won't be down to work on anything before Thanksgiving.  Not sure when.  But my part for now is done.

Allie wondered if all the commotion was done, too.  For now.  Yes.  Done.
I am too tired to think about reorganizing anything I have shoved away.  I will deal with all of that when everything is unpacked.  I may need to put some studio things in drawers in the living room...and I DO have empty drawers--tada!  I was hoping I would because I figured I would probably need to use some of them for studio supplies.  I'm happy dancing over that.  I purged better than I thought--lol!  Whoohoo!

It's possible I may put the paper shelves into the Billy bookcases instead of the hutches if I have enough room.   It would be nice to be able to move the printer into the studio on top of one of the hutches, but until everything is unpacked I don't know how things will go.  I am so happy I have several drawers empty at least!  Gives me hope that things may end up organized better than I expected--lol!

I just thought--it's maybe possible to put both the paper shelves in the same hutch--one on top of the other.  With all the trays making it so easy to get things in and out I could reach pretty high before I would need a stool...then I could put the printer on the other hutch.  This is how the mind spins...as any of you can remember when you have moved--lol!

Anyways...another week.  A milestone in unpacking.  Now I am on break.  After a good long rest, I should feel up to using my spoons to do things like finally change the shower curtain--lol!  Or start working on Christmas cards!  OMGosh--it is that time of year already!  This year I am using leftover cards from past years.  They have been located!  I'm not exactly set up to make cards yet--lol! It will be the same thing for birthday cards for 2026 for all my snailmail folks.  Leftover cards from past years.  But, they are all handmade...even if you got them before.

I hope you all have a fine Thanksgiving, those who celebrate it.  McFamily is going over to Leah's sister's in town.  I want to stay home with Allie and probably do nothing but watch British mysteries.  Sounds wonderful to me!  To all of you--have a sweet week...tell the people you love how you feel...give a hug if you can...be grateful for all the little things in your life.  I am thankful for you!!  :)
