Greetings!
Much the same here. Not much to tell. Eye still about the same. Hard to type or write. I did really well on not watching much news at all until Saturday. I have family and friends who live in the Twin Cities. Leah's youngest sister and her family live in Minneapolis. This has been a horrendous last couple months watching what is being done to my hometown. I thought it was bad enough watching it before happening around the United States. I am so proud of the Minnesotans out protesting every day--helping their neighbors get their kids to school or getting groceries for them...whatever they need. We are the community of man. We are the human family. Why can't so many people not know that? I am humbled by the protesters all over this country who gather to protect fellow human beings...who blow whistles...reach out to help when they can...and record it all!!
Crying does not make it any easier to type...but I can't help it.
I do love seeing the wind sculptures in the window well. I wish I could have the blind open like this all day...
...but it is mostly only open a little because the light hurts my eye and makes it water and hurt even more.Miss Allie fell on Tuesday on her last jump up on the cat tree to get to the dresser. She didn't seem to be hurt badly, thank goodness. But she didn't go near the cat tree for days. I told her how much I totally understood about being leery after a fall.
She finally got up her nerve again about three days later.
Happy girl again. (The fall wasn't from this top bed but the step below that.)
Me. I'm still not feeling steady. A bit wobbly due to whole head feeling weird (eye, ear, tooth) and always having a headache and no depth perception. Hopefully it will all get better over time. I am beginning to think my eye may not improve much with its inflammation until I get the molar removed on the 4th. I suppose that is possible.
Endurance.
Pain endurance seems to have been the name of the game for me for the last 25 years--lol! But it is an inconsequential problem in the big picture of life.
The wind still creates beautiful sculptures with the snow.
It's -9F (-23C) this sunny afternoon. Nature is doing her best to freeze ICE.

Monday I check in with the eye doctor again to see how I am healing. I haven't noticed much change yet. Probably need another bottle of the steroid eye drops.
Wednesday I see my oncologist, Dr. Failing. I already got my results online from the CTscans and know I am cancer free still--whoohoo! Am hoping I can go a year now instead of six months between checkups.
Friday I am going with Leah to the DMV. With the move and all I totally forgot to renew my driver's license last year. Didn't even realize it until after I moved...and, as you know, been practically sick ever since--lol! Says online that you have a year to renew it. We'll see if that's true. Will they renew a license if you fail the eye test? Another question I will find the answer to--lol! I haven't been driving in years anyways. Leah needs to go in to get her real ID so she can fly, so I figured I'd get mine taken care of at the same time. You can make appointments these days online. If I can't get mine renewed due to the eye or whatever, I can probably just get a North Dakota non-driver's ID. Just as long as that is a legal identification for voting and such federal and official things. I think it is.
Going to be a busy week.
Well, been working on this all day so far. I think I caught most of the mistakes...thanks to spell check--lol! Will just post early again when I am done. Bless you all! Till next week.....

Thank you for posting despite all obstacles. I'm so happy your scans gave welcome results, yay! you did it.
And yes, I have friends in the Minneapolis area, too, very worrying. I didn't know you were from Mupples!
Thank you so much for posting, and I hope you get some relief soon. But great news about the cancer! I am so impressed by the people in Minneapolis, and am heartbroken about Alex Pettri. He was such a neat guy, and murdered for helping.
Poor Ms. Allie! Poor you! hopefully your eyes get better soon, but all that white is not helping.
Hi Rita. I do hope that your eye improves and that you have a good week. I cannot agree with you about what is going on in Minnesota. The governor (Tampon Tim) is trying to agitate and stop law enforcement (ICE) from deporting criminals. I do not agree at all with what is going on there. It is too bad that that young man was killed. He was not murdered. He was interfering with law enforcement, and he was armed. Not sure at all what he thought would happen. I love my country but Walz and his cronies are trying to start a civil war because all of the fraud with the Somalis was exposed. His conduct is despicable. It is truly a very sad time for our country, that so many have such blatant disregard for the rule of law.
Hi again, Rita. I am praying for you, that you can be healed of your eye problems. I am also praying for an end to the strife in Minnesota. May God protect the ICE agents and the citizens of Minneapolis. I am sending you love and best wishes, even though we do not agree politically. Being an American means sometimes disagreeing with other Americans. I hope that you have a good week.
Thanks for the update and I'm happy the scans were good.
Rita, cats seem to really bounce back (no pun intended, my friend) and hope that will be the case for you soon as you have been dealing with the painful eye condition for so long. Good news on the cancer scans. I believe you can get a non-driver's ID. As others have commented, I also appreciated the update on all that's going, especially since it takes time for you, spelling errors begone!.
Oh Rita! Thats such good news!! Cancer free! Music to my ears...That eye of yours.... I can't believe they can't figure out whats wrong with it.. I hope it is the tooth and when you get that fixed the eye will fix too... Take away my vision and i would be lost.. Awww poor Allie... i'm glad she wasn't hurt AND she was brave enough to try again... Big Hugs to you both! deb
Cancer free is wonderful news! Now if the eye/tooth problem would get better! Think of you. People in Mpls/St Paul make problems for themselves... let Law Enforcement do their jobs picking up the illegals and then move on:)
Poor Allie! Kya sometimes falls back down when she attempts to jump up onto my desk. She's carrying some extra weight so she should go the easier route.
Great news that you're still cancer-free! YAY!
I hope all goes well for you on the 4th, Rita. x
It's horrific what's happening in Minneapolis! ICE agents DO NOT have the same powers as regular law enforcement. They deliberately ignore their boundaries and are extremely aggressive. They force their way into people's homes without warrants which is ILLEGAL even for law enforcement! They attack citizens for taking videos of their assaults. They drag US citizens out of their cars and have up to 6 ICE agents pile on top of them. THIS IS HEINOUS BEHAVIOUR! It's like watching the IDF in action. Trump is trying to force a situation where he can declare martial law and stop the elections because he knows his popularity has dropped dramatically. US citizens have the legal right to bear witness and take footage for future evidence.
Alex was helping a poor woman who had been aggressively pushed to the ground by an ICE agent. The ICE agent sprayed Alex and the woman up close with pepper spray and then they AGGRESSIVELY dragged him away from her.
Alex Pretti was legally licenced to carry and, at no stage, did he have that gun in his hands. I watched the slide-by-slide, slo-mo footage and it clearly showed one of the ICE agents removing the gun from Alex's holster and taking it out of the 'huddle' just as the first shots were fired. Even after he was lying on the ground, they fired more shots into his helpless body. IT WAS MURDER!!!
He worked as a nurse in the ICU at a veteran's hospital. He was a GOOD MAN!
It's absolutely disgusting to watch the US administration deliberately fabricate LIES to cover for the ICE agents and manipulate the public.
It's straight out of George Orwell's novel - 1984.
"The party told you to reject
the evidence of your eyes
and ears. It was their final,
most essential command."
George Orwell
I can't wait to see Trump and his administration toppled.
Allie appreciates your empathy, I'm sure. I fear falling and have come close at times but haven't actually fallen -- yet. You should be able to get a non-driving ID that allows you to vote and do whatever else you need to do. We visited the Twin Cities almost every summer to visit my maternal grandmother and my mom's older sister (my Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Bernie and their children). I still have family living there. It breaks my heart to see what's happening to the brave people of Minneapolis because the felon in the White House is filled with hatred. The administration needs to stop this madness by pulling out ICE and stopping its illegal activities.
Much, much love to you,
Janie
I am sorry your eye is still giving you trouble, it is sad what is happening in America
You buried the lede on this one! Cancer free Hooray! Best news ever. I hope your Minneapolis people will be safe. I admire them so much for being out there -- especially in this weather to protest something that well deserves to be protested. It's tragic in every way. Glad Alliemade it back on the cat tree.
YAY for being cancer free. A great celebration for that. Sorry your eye is not healing as you would like. The wind dose make some nice sculptures. Heard that the creep in charge of ICE lost his position. He is going back to CA. Walz talk to the "thing" and it sounds like some agreement has been made. Hope this is true. I have a passport but I need to go get my real ID. I think this is going to be important. Have a really nice day today and blessing to you.
Cancer free yay!!!! Hope you and Alllie feel better soon! Yes...I can barely even watch the news anymore...so sad. Keep feeling better! Love you!
So happy for you on that good news but sorry that you are still having a problem with your eye. I know how Allie feels too. Those falls make me avoid places for quite a while. I forgot to renew my driver’s license too after getting a change to the real ID. I remember them telling me I would have to renew on my birthday which was about a year to go, and only just realized it as I haven’t driven for about two years. So proud of Minnesotans. Awful, awful things going on, makes me want to cry with the senseless cruelty of it all and loss of life. Never in my life would have thought this would happen here.
My son just told me that the older man who was ruffed up, someone raised $20,000 on GoFundMe and the man has donated it all to the food banks in Minneapolis.
Poor Ms Allie, Rita...and poor 😢 you.
