Greetings!
Well, went to see Dr. Ridgeley Monday afternoon. Still no needle in the eye--hurray! (I think those guys were wrong on what they had expected Dr. Ridgeley to do--and I think one was the ultrasound tech and the second guy was Dr. Anderson--who I think I will see when I go back.) Anyways, he could see more in the inside but my eye is still not dilating well. So he sent me home with taking the dilation drops three times a day and the steroid drops every two hours I am awake and to come back in two to three weeks. ?? Plus he ordered a whole bunch of blood tests. Sad it was unusual for this inflammation to last this long. He seems a man who wants more information.
Dagan took me Tuesday to the lab for the big blood draw. I didn't ask but it looked like she'd taken around 6-7 vials. He even tested for tuberculosis! Very thorough guy. (Don't have it.) Got online results over the next few days. The ones that were for inflammation were all abnormal, of course. I plan to talk to Dr. Kessler about that when I go for my yearly Medicare physical on Wednesday. She's also an osteopath so maybe she'll have some suggestions as to how to treat my inflammtion?
Anyways, we got an appointment for April 1st and Dr. Ridgeley told me he wouldn't be there. I am seeing a Dr. Anderson--and I think that was the guy who had expected Dr. Ridgeley to take a sample from my eye.
So, been just putting in eye drops all day/every day. Finished watching all of Vera. Allie and I have been resting a lot. I can maybe see a little better in the lower right hand corner of my vision in that eye, but I still get eye pain when I try to read. Continuous (even slight) eye movements from right to left set it off. Luckily when you are watching a show you don't move your eyes about a lot. Maybe I would if I was watching action movies--lol! Slow moving Indi movies and British detective shows are my friends.
Allie is maybe a little bored, too. I moved her bed...
...across the dresser. She found that very interesting! LOL!
We had some weather shifting from rain to show that was totally fascinating for Miss Allie as it slowly slid down the windowpanes.
But mostly was a quiet week after the two appointments.
My hand is still bad (and toes). Hurts to write or type...have been behind regularly with my daily journals and no letters still. My handwriting is horrible because I can't even grip the pen properly. Really bums me out. So, what did I do to cheer myself up? Thinking positively--I ordered two new colors of the new matt colored Pilot explorer fountain pens and four small bottles of ink.
I know. Makes no sense to anyone else. But I am still attempting to journal a little, I hope to be better on both the eye score & the swollen painful hand score, all my ink bottle are packed away somewhere, and I am gradually using up all those trays full of filled fountain pens since I moved. Even if I can only journal a tiny bit and not every day...I use my sweet fountain pens. I will have two new ones (inexpensive that I know I love) and some bottles of ink I can refill some pens with! Makes me very, very happy. That's what I spent my money on this month--besides cat food--lol!
Plus--my birthday is not till the end of the month, but it is also a birthday present to myself. Those of you who have been around for a while know I very often get myself a little something from Goulet Pens for my birthday. ;)
The wild card for this week:
I had many moments with animals--pets and wild. But I think what came to mind was when I started waiting for my dad to read the comics in the Sunday paper so I could lay on the floor with the funny pages clutching a sharp pencil with a good eraser to try to copy the cartoon characters. I was proud of myself when I could get them to look close to the picture before my eyes. I think I started doing that for a couple of years when I was somewhere around 10 years old. I thought the dream job would be working for Disney on the cells they made for his animated movies! How about you?

We had some snow again last night. Nothing like the amount of snow people got elsewhere. Some crazy weather all over. What's it like where you are?
So, still no definite diagnosis really. Maybe there never will be? Like the time my entire left leg swelled up for no reason, as some of you may recall. Hopefully this bout of drops will make it easier for them to see inside of my eye next time. Maybe even start to make it clearer and lift the filmy fog. Positive thoughts. This has been going on since before Christmas. :(

So sorry I can't comment on blogs very often and have not written any letters. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Every week the most I get done is a load of laundry--lol! And it feels like a great accomplishment. :) We never know what life has in store for us.
Do you think Allie maybe wants me to move her bed again?
Till next week, my friends. :) :)
