Tuesday-10am

Chilly morning (16 degrees), but sunny.
We were above freezing for quite a few days so all that is left outside are the snowbanks.  But they are about a third of the size they were.
I ordered this wooden puzzle for Ian from Amazon.  Waited for it to drop back down from $29.88 to $12.99 and snatched it up.  (Man!  The prices on Amazon can jump all over the place!)
Caroline came to clean--got to see pictures of super smiley two month old Parker--and she told me about camelcamelcamel.com where you can track the Amazon prices on items.  I guess they will send you notification when what you are tracking goes back down to the price you are waiting for.  Leah looked at it and said they are partnered with Amazon and it looked legit--so I am tracking a couple things right now.  Pretty cool!  You can see what the price range has been in the past and when--cool!  Heck Amazon knows everything I look at online anyways, right?  LOL!
****
I've never understood Karma's love of hard pillows.
How can she sleep like this...
...with her head on the wooden chair arm?
Anyways, she kept me company, of course, when I decided that I'd slap some blobs of color on a piece of packing paper...
...so I could wrap up the puzzle for Ian.
Dagan picked me up after work on Friday (his half day).
****
Okay.
Dagan had on this T-shirt.
He assured me I wasn't the only one who didn't get it.
****
Did you?
****
Those are grandmothers or old gray-haired ladies with walkers...and a chubby little person in a Batman costume.
****
You have to say it out loud.
Nana, Nana, Nana, Nana, Nana, Nana, Nana, Nana...Batman!
****
Hysterical!
I guess you have to have seen the old Batman show from the 60s or maybe one of the Batman movies?  Anyways, once he told me the lady was Nana (not as common up here in the Midwest--or at least in my family)--I kept laughing and had to get a picture.  My son is a kid at heart...wonder where he got that from?  LOL!
****
Leah's youngest sister, Ariel, was up visiting from Minneapolis over the weekend, too.  We had some delicious Chinese takeout for lunch.
Leah and Ariel had been out and about so Ian hadn't had a nap and was overtired, but he got to open his present before nap time because I didn't plan to stay long, we weren't sure how long he'd sleep, and Dagan was dropping me off back home on his way to gaming.  (Plus Gramma has been overtired, too, lately--lol!)  Ian made a beeline for the puzzle as soon as he woke up, so I guess he liked it.  :)
****
Leah took a video till my cell phone cut her off.
20 months old already!
How did that happen?
Oh, and for the gang over at T Stands For Tuesday, my red coffee mug was on the table when I was painting...of course.  Forgot to mention that till now.  ;)
****
At the moment, Miss Karma is snoozing in the sunshine while it lasts.
Leah switched Craft Night to this coming Thursday night and she and Ian are planning to come over for a visit tomorrow afternoon.  :)
****
I might possibly be a bit busier in 2016.  Time will tell.  Remember that Potluck meeting I missed because I was sick?  Well, our first newsletter and calendar came out for March.  (No craft group or library outreach.)  They have an Open Game Night on Monday nights.  (I imagine it will be cards and board games--which I never know when I might have to scoot home, so I can't join anything where my leaving might mess up the works--but I might go peek and see what they are doing because they invited people to come and watch if nothing else--lol!)  There's Movie Night on Friday nights (definitely will check that out--curious about what they will choose).  Bingo every other week (doesn't interest me).  Chair/Easy exercise videos a couple mornings and a couple afternoons (takes me all morning to thaw out, but I might try the afternoon group--be good for me).  And then there's a monthly Potluck and a monthly Birthday gathering (it's is my birthday month so I should at least try and show up for the March birthdays).  They are making coffee every morning in the Community Room at 8am and would appreciate a quarter a cup reimbursement.
****
And so...it has begun!
They are getting organized.
Looks like a resident volunteer is in charge.
The third and final building isn't even completed yet.
****
I am so familiar with all of this--ROFL!  My new followers might not know that I both had a live-in emergency personnel position plus worked in the office of a senior complex before I moved up here to Fargo-Moorhead in 1999.  Dagan was teasing me about getting on the newsletter committee, activity committee, etc.  Been there--done that.  Now I am on the other end--LOL!  If any of you folks would like me to fill you in, just let me know.  :)
****
I will let you know what I attend and how it goes, for sure.  Would be nice to eventually find one like-minded person here--you know, an actual friend.  You think there might be any old tree-hugging hippies up here in Fargo?  ROFL!
****
 Well, that's it for now.
Farewell from frigid Fargo.  :) :)

I'm not a tree-hugging hippy and never have been, but I feel we're friends :) Widen your circle of possibilities, which I know you will anyway without me telling you ;)

You'd think Karma would get a stiff neck sleeping like that! That puzzle toy looks like a fun one for your grandkids. Glad you got a good deal on it!

I totally got the t-shirt! HA. Happy T day friend!

I love the t-shirt! (and the old Batman TV show which is aired here on Saturday nights!)

Ah, to sleep like Karma!

I love the gift for Ian and how much he seems to enjoy it!! If Karma rubs off on him, he'll start liking the wrapping paper and shipping boxes more than the gifts though.

ha ha ha! so glad you explained 'cause I didn't get it either, but that is a hoot! and Ian is absolutely adorable!

No, I didn't get the t-shirt, and I still hardly get it after you told me what it means. I'll take your word for it that it's funny. Ian, however, sure is a smart little guy. I loved watching him thinking as he worked the puzzle. How could he NOT enjoy it? Life is going along just great for you in Fargo! Makes me happy. :-)

Your snow is just in heaps, soon it will all be gone maybe this weekend for you. It will take longer here, still cold today. The port removal and replacement surgery was today, so glad it is over, it is more painful than last time...one day at a time.
Remember the pounding bench with the hammer and pegs? Leah would get a kick out of that toy for Ian:)

Yes, what is it about Amazon prices, and I didn't know about the other website. I am going to check that out. And what a cutie Ian is. Sounds like you have a lot going on in your life right now- how nice to have so many wonderful people around you and Karma too! Hugs!

What great post! Love that T shirt!! We have all sorts goes on here too! We only go to a few though! We love Scrabble with our friends and we also have occasional meals! Carpet bowls, armchair keep fit, choir group don't appeal at the moment but Hubby does go to Mah Jong on Monday afternoons , which he enjoys and I don't - but as he says it gives me a couple of hours to myself!! There are quite a few other organised events that we don't always join in with but as we get older who know….! Hope you and the beautiful Karma have a great week! Hugs, Chrisx

darling Ian , and Karma too. What a great puzzle you got for such a good price for Ian. No, I did NOT get the t shirt even though I did watch a little of the original batman series on tv! Glad to hear you are so happy and busy too! Happy T day and thanks for the earlier visit.

Ian is such a sweetie. I remember when he was only a bump in Leah's tummy. Can't believe how he's grown up under our noses.

I still don't get the tee shirt, but I never watched batman or any of the movies, either.

So glad you might be joining in a few of the activities in your complex. I wish there was something around here, but I live in a single family neighborhood where everyone except Sally and I work. I'd be working if I got off my butt, but I like the idea that I might someday make money with my art. I have a Ph.D. and have only put it to work for a couple of years. Such a shame.

I enjoyed reading about your week. Loved how you wrapped Ian's gift. Thanks for sharing your week with us for T this Tuesday.

Sorry I was late, but I had an eye doctor appointment today and it lasted a LOT longer than I expected. Then I took myself out to eat and am finally home. I take FOREVER to eat, and even longer when I eat alone.

Ian is a smart little boy, and he's growing up so fast.

I would have a permanent crook in my neck if I slept like Karma.

I hope you find someone with the same interests as you to make living at your new place that much more enjoyable.

I got the t-shirt. ;)

Sounds like a good week, company, visits with Ian, snow melting and a little sunshine. It sounds like your new home place is trying to provide activities for a variety of tastes. That's a nice feature - hope you are able to join some of them.

Yeah looked at the tee shirt, thought for a minute and then got it before reading what it was, just saying.

I like the puzzle you got for Ian, but yeah it is amazing how prices go up, down and all over the place.

I kept looking at his t-shirt thinking, I should know this. Then when you said Nana, I got it! I think she needs a t-shirt with Nana on it, or at the bottom, Nana meets Batman, then I'd get it. Hahaha thanks for the chuckle.

OMG I laughed so hard at that t-shirt. Genius!! How nice that there are social activities for the residents. No one has to be lonely.

Nice to see Karma - and that is some view from your window.

Cool puzzle! It was fun watching Ian work it out.

I didn't 'get' the intent of the T-shirt until you explained it. Then I laughed...hehe

I hope you find a kindred spirit when you attend some of the activities. Main thing is that you enjoy yourself.

Love and hugs xo

Oh he's a clever little guy. I'd be looking for a puzzle which is more complicated before too long. What a cutie.

Really like that puzzle you got for Ian.
I also have a cat who rests his head on hard surfaces. His favourite at the moment is the fender in front of a toasty fire.
They do grow up quickly. Ian is lovely at twenty months. My two little obes are going to start school in September. ( They start very early here in England.)

Your new place sounds like it is so much better for you and offers many more social opportunities than your other place. Looks like the person coordinating all the activities has done a nice job creating a variety of things to do.
