March 22, 2021 Monday--8:30am

Good morning.

I know it is morning because the sun is shining today.

Blogger is messing with my paragraph spacing today so I would imagine it will also randomly change my font size like it has been, too.  I am too tired and sore to care, to be honest.

Monday we had sleet and little snow.

Tuesday my brother, Blaine, his younger son (Ryan), and Ryan's older son (Asher) dropped off Grandpa's desk, my mom's framed tatting (?), and a box with Mom's jewelery for me to go through to see if there's anything I want.  When I've gone through it then it will turn into a fun thing for the great-granddaughters to play with.  Most of it is costume jewelery.  We spent about an hour and a half in my garage with masks.  I wasn't feeling that great and didn't spend enough time talking with Ryan and Asher.  I'd never met Asher (11) and hadn't seen Ryan since he helped me move up here with his dad in 1999 when he was still in high school.  But it was so nice to see them.

Thursday night Leah came and we worked on Elliot's form till late again and she cut my hair for me.  Leah is getting her first shot on Tuesday--tomorrow! And Dagan didn't have any problems at all with his first shot.

Friday...

...second shot for me.

A lot busier than last time...
...but I was still in and out pretty quickly.
By 10pm I had the chills so bad that I started shaking and couldn't stop--for an hour and forty minutes.  Then I fell right to sleep for 12 hours and 45 minutes.  Spent most of Saturday still napping off and on.  Ached like crazy all over.  Hot and cold.  Bad headache.  Was awake most of Saturday night watching Waking The Dead till morning.  Slept half of Sunday...but still slept last night from 12-7:30am.  Talk about tired!  Finished Waking The Dead yesterday.  (Binge watched all last week.)

Still have the headache, body pain, and exhaustion--but it seems maybe better this morning.  Can't say I've had a normal reaction, but I am so glad to have gotten both my shots.  I expect to feel better as the week goes on.  Maybe I'll feel decent in a week...happy birthday to me!

On the 28th I'll be 70 years old.  I don't usually pay attention to birthdays but this feels like one of note, you know?  Noticed last week I have old-lady-hands.  I still don't have grey hair, but that's genetic and it will come.  What a long life I have led already.  I think with my mom dying and then turning 70...just been contemplative about my life lately.  But way too tired and sore to reminisce at the moment.  I have transferred many of the life stories I've written into my other blog.

I started that blog because a few people complained they couldn't find my stories in this blog easily because I don't tag anything or something like that.  I see I totally forgot I was going to have weekly videos answering questions from a list I found online...only lasted two weeks--ROFL!  That was years ago now--LOL!  Maybe I should try to continue on with that?  I wonder where that list went?  Maybe when I feel better.  If I ever do--LOL!

Meanwhile--partridges are here.
Not as often now that the snow is gone again and it has been warmer.  Going through much less seed and that's nice.  Won't be long and I will wean away the seed and put out the water dish and the partridges won't be seen much at all until fall.  Spring keeps trying to show up.

I should be feeling lots better by next Monday.  I hope Leah has an easy time with her vaccine like Dagan did.  Hope you all do, for that matter--lol!  Myself...I think I need another nap.

Glad you are vaxed. Sorry for the reaction though. I tried to get our appt for our second shot but it is a cluster-mess here. I was told if I don't get an email by Wednesday to call again. OOOKAYYY. Happy early birthday. I don't have gray hair either. My entire family does so not sure why I still have very very dark brown hair. Nice your family is there. Have a great week and I hope you are feeling better today.

Hi Rita! I'm so happy to hear you have gotten your second shot! Of course I am sorry you have been feeling so bad and I sure hope that goes away soon. I've heard of a lot of people having chills and fever from the second shot. I have also heard that usually women have more bad side effects but I don't know if that is true. We get our second shot this Wednesday. I guess we will see how it goes. I usually buy groceries on Thursday but this week I'll put that off until Friday in case I feel bad from the shot.

I understand what you are saying about old lady hands! I think my hands have aged more than anything else. I have so many age spots that my age spots have age spots! It is strange to think about turning 70 isn't it? I am a year and few months behind you and will be 70 next summer. I think that every 10 year birthday is kind of a big deal. You definitely should celebrate!

Blogger always seems to be messing with things when I write - and it's always something different every time. I'm glad your two shots are finally over - but I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so sick. Resting and binge-watching is a good idea.

I hope your upcoming birthday is a pleasant one, filled with blessings and good things.
The older I get, the faster the years pass by. I can hardly keep up with them...

So glad your family is getting vaccinated. Hope you are feeling better soon after your second shot. Even with the side effects, it is still a relief to have it done. My husband gets #2 vaccine tomorrow. Wednesday, our son, 24, can schedule his vaccine because Utah is opening up shots for all adults then. So glad you got those things from your mom. Hope you have a wonderful birthday. Yes, time does fly and the older we get, the more we realize we won't always be around. Part of life. Hope you have a good week and feel better soon.

Ya on turning 70! And no grays? Amazing! I feel like I've had grays since 23. My parents finally got in for their first shots, and the Hubs got his first tonight. My parents had Moderna and he got phizer. The general thought is that because Moderna is 3 times the concentration, the effects are worse. We shall see. Glad you're on the mend!

It was good to catch up with family whatever the circumstances. It is a bit of a cliché I know but seventy is just a number. Just keep enjoying every day; it's the only way to spend your life. Miriam and I both had our first vaccine shot two days ago and other than a bit of a sore arm, her worse than me, had no side effects at all. We were happy to get it and perhaps this will ease us back into something resembling normal behaviour.

I get my second shot in a couple more hours. It will be whatever it will be, but I suspect it won't be as bad for me as it has been for you. I'm so sorry to hear how awful you feel, but just think of how you would have fared with the virus. And happy birthday soon! :-)

So glad you are done with the shots! I am still tired too and it has been a week today. It is a slow process to get better. Good that you have the desk now and you got to see your brother. 70 how is that possible...that is my number later this year...you are 6 months older than me! It is only a number...I have to tell myself that!! Hope you feel better soon, rest when you need to:)

Yay for shots! Not yay for feeling bad. Card and a letter on the way. I'll be shocked if it arrives in time for your birthday.

Love,
Janie

I'm happy you were able to get your vaccine shots fairly easily but am so sorry you had a reaction. Bummer :( At least it's done now. It'll make things easier going forward. A birthday number worth noting, yes. I've heard it said women spend so much times on their faces, forgetting that it's our neck and hands that give away our age lol With masks our faces don't even show. I hope you feel better soon.

Happy 🎂 wishes to you Rita and hope that within a couple of days the vaccine reaction symptoms will be gone. We only had sore arms, but others we know had reactions and are fine. Glad you were able to see family even if the visit would have been nicer if you felt better. Hopefully, you will be able to get together again.

Wow! You really had a significant reaction to the vaccine! I hope the symptoms subside soon. Happy 70th birthday! I think whenever there is a milestone birthday, especially as an adult, there's reflection on one's life. :)
