Greetings!
Well, I thought that my eye watering less was a sign it was getting better. But I guess I hadn't tried to cover my left eye and see through it. Totally covered by a light grey film and can't see anything but blobby shapes. Dr. Breen put me back on steroid drops four times a day for 10 days straight and come back to see her. The Iritis is gone but the cornea is still inflamed. They've done everything they could. If there hasn't been noticeable improvement she will refer me to a corneal specialist.
Been a week. Can't see any better at all in that eye. The bad eye messes/overlaps with my good eye but some days less than usual for a while. I occasionally have been able to write a couple comments. That's improvement, I guess. But I can't count on it. Still takes me many hours to write a blog, but it is worth it. You are worth it. :)
I go back on Thursday.
Good news this week is Dagan had his surgery on Thursday and all went well. They drove back on Friday. He can't lift and has to take it easy for a good while, but he's doing well. :)
We are glad they decided to just replace the pacemaker again this time. He really needs new leads. That is why his pacemakers are not lasting that long (2 to 3 years). Next time will probably be open heart surgery for the replacing of leads. His heart has so much scar tissue from past surgeries...it's kind of an if it ain't broke type of situation, you know. I think I told you he has been opened up so many times for pacemakers that he doesn't bleed anymore when they cut into him because of scar tissue there in his abdomen. (He was only 12 when he got his first one and was too small to put it up into his chest like they usually do for adults--and just has remained there all these years and they don't plan to change that, either, unless they have to.) So, he should be good to go for hopefully another 2-3 years if the leads hang in there. :) They do keep a close eye on him.
Allie is happy I can at least open the blind partway on a sunny day now most of the time. Me, too. Less water running down my cheek is a good thing. :)
I stumbled across Wild Card with Rachel Martin from NPR over on YouTube. LOVE the show! She asks guests a series of deeper questions they choose from a series of cards. They are questions that you really have to think about. (Stuff I often think about--lol!) The show was asked so often about selling a deck of cards people could buy that they finally made up a deck. I had preordered it a while back and it just arrived this weekend!I thought it might be fun to pick a random card to reply to. Maybe every week?
I have! Mostly as I was waking up when I was young...like a dream. When I was in 6th grade I had this "dream" where I was frozen in place--standing--couldn't move my arms which were in front of my chest--blackness--couldn't see anything--but there was this super loud sound almost like the train going by Grandma and Grandpa's house when they lived in Cokato if you were standing too close to the tracks--and I was being hit by small rocks or pieces of something all over the front of my body but they didn't quite reach me for some reason even if I could feel them hit like maybe I had a big cardboard box over my head or something??? That voice I would hear in my head sometimes said very clearly--"remember this". (I have always called him GA--my guardian angel.)
Ninth grade. I was at the junior high science fair with my two guinea pigs. Long story short--tornado--grabbed up my two guinea pigs to my chest--watched all the people scramble to get out of the gymnasium--adults pushing kids aside--people screaming--decided I wasn't going to be a part of that--watched a section of the roof blow away and another--a small funnel started to form in the center of the room--the lights went out--a large piece of posterboard from someone's display suddenly plastered itself to the front of me and the deafening sound! I stood there and thought to myself--this is the dream!! Broken glass and who knows what else pelted the poster board that protected me. My hands weren't tied. They were holding my guinea pigs. Stood still until the wind left and the poster board slid down to the floor.
That was one.
Another bonus I will throw in. When I was about ten I dreamt that Mr and Mrs Little One (brown male and albino female hamsters) had nine male albino babies. Mrs Little One was pregnant and due any time, but I knew enough about genetics to know that would be nearly impossible. I had no other hamsters. Thought it was a very funny dream. Mrs had nine babies the next day and they were all going to be white! That was weird enough! But after about a month you could tell they were all males! Blew me away. Still makes me chuckle.
Anyways, let me know if you have ever had a premonition that came true. I'd love to hear!! Do you think it would be fun to do one of these cards every week--or most weeks? This is my big writing effort for the week and since I feel my communication is so one-sided right now, this idea came to me. What do you think? Have you ever watched the show?
Allie is happily basking in the sun this afternoon.
Life is good. Till next week. :) :)

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post. I do like to know how you're doing. And yes, I'd be intrigued by the occasional card with a question like that.
I answer yo this week's question: yes, I dreamed my sister, living thousands of miles away and rarely in touch, was telling me she'd had a baby, told me his name, and seven months later I heard she had. Correct name too. I dreamed it just when she'd found out herself. DNA magic.
Sorry to hear about the continued eye issues. I sure hope it gets better. Glad to hear that all went well with Dagan's surgery.
Those cards are rather interesting. I imagine there are some good questions in there. I have to say that I have never had a premonition that came true.
Wow! Those dreams and what happened are very interesting. I hope you'll choose more cards and write about your answers. This is so inconsequential it's ridiculous, but when I was in high school I was in a teenage beauty/talent pageant that went on for two days. After the first day I had a dream in which I saw one of the girls I had befriended standing off to the side of the stage while I received a trophy and then she came to hug me and she was crying. The next day as the pageant continued I was a finalist and she was not. At the conclusion of the pageant, she watched from the side of the stage. I received a tropy for being the talent winner and then she hugged me and she was crying. I also once heard a voice tell me I wasn't going to die when my son was a toddler and I was very sick and in the hospital. I knew I would live so I could raise him. I'm happy your eye waters less. I wish it would recover completely, but it's good that the current doctor know you might need another specialist. The picture of Allie is great. She's relaxed in the way only a cat can relax.
Love,
Janie
Your eye problem seems so much worse than mine... although the watering dripping down your face is similar (sometimes it drips onto my shirt). I've had 5 eye surgeries since July and though the first was Mohs due to a basal cell carcinoma, the next 3 were plastic surgery, and this last one was to implant a stent for a blocked tear duct. My left eye has been watering/tearing for 6 months! Maybe a little less now. It's also blurry, but may be due to the tears and a little bit of discharge that I use a sterile q-tip to remove each morning. I'm hoping it's all part of the healing process. Yours too... although yours seems more serious. Light and glare bothers mine also. Sending you prayers and good vibes that your eye heals soon.
Hope they send you to the Cornea specialist soon. I am so glad Dagan is ok after his surgery. Can't say that I had a premonition that came true.
I hope your eye gets better! I'm afraid I have never had a premonition that came true. The ones you mention are amazing. ❤️
Never heard of the show but doing the cards sounds like fun... Sometimes when we had the old phones , you know before cell phones... I would know the phone was going to ring before it did... does that count? It would only be a second or two before the ring... .. Your stories are really something.. .Rita ... i canNOT believe they are going to let this go on longer... You could totally lose your vision.. if not your eye! and i don't mean that to be morbid... but personally i think you have put up with this long enough... what are they waiting for? So glad Dagan is doing well and on the mend :) Much love and hugs to you!!!!!!!! deb
If I ever had a premonition that came true I don't remember! I like the idea of a card every week or so. It seems you should see a specialist now, this has gone on a long time. Good news for Dagan.
Hi Rita. I'm sorry about your eye. I'm not doing well today but wanted to stop by to say hello and to send healing energy to you.
That isn't good about your eyes, I am pleased you have been able to post your weekly post and update us all about your eyes, good to read Dagan's surgery went well, also those wild cards sound cool
Good news about Dagan and I'm glad. Not so good about you. I hope the drops and whatever else they can do will help. Hopefully you can find an excellent cornea specialist. Meanwhile, those are two amazing premonitions. I like Rachel Martin. I've only heard the whole show (or most of it) once, but have heard some "preview" bits on Morning Edition. It sounds wonderful.
Rita, the news about Dagan was good to read, but no so good about you eye issues continuing. Like others who commented, thank you for taking the time and certainly the effort to post and update and I too hope a corneal referral will provide relief. I plan go check out the Maddox podcast this week. As for premonitions, I can’t recall anything specific but have experienced episodes of ESP.
Those are some crazy experiences from your past. I tried to think of premonitions that came true and cannot think of any!
I do hope that whatever improvement possible for your eye comes to fruition. I have never (touch wood) had a premonition, but I have really, really frustrating dreams so in a way, quite glad about that.
Good news on Dagan but very sorry to read about your ongoing eye health. I hope the medical people can sort that out for you real soon. Sweet photos of Allie enjoying the sun. Those dreams you had are really something. I had one dream in my childhood that I have never forgotten. I don’t remember any of my dreams these days.
I can't believe I missed this post. Great news about Dagan. Let's hope the leads hold.
So sorry to read about your continuing eye difficulty. I hope the steroid drops work.
Never heard of that show and never had a premonition. Glad you like the cards and glad Allie is doing well.
