Tuesday-9am

Since I talked with you on Saturday I did finish organizing everything under the kitchen sink.  Which means I am done with the main part of the apartment and only have the studio left!
I hauled some things to the garage and am pretty much DONE for now.  Here's the pantry--Cat box side...
...and above.
Other side and back wall with the basket shelves.
Just these shelf liner pieces out of place yet.  (This was a sheet of 4 X 8 foot wall covering we cut up to fit various shelves at the old place.)
Leah's talking about putting up another shelf in between Karma's food and the high shelf on that side, so might save them for that shelf.  Should have taken these to the garage, too.  Maybe today.  :)
****
Ignore the table--but the kitchen is done, too!
So nice not to have the counters cluttered up.
TaDa!!
I am totally on R&R for the week, though.  Much as I would love to dig into the studio...my body is the boss of me and, shall we say, is no longer feeling cooperative right now.  So I am writing letters, watching Chromecast, and reading the instruction manual for the new vacuum...with my trusty red cup always nearby, of course. (Hi everybody over at Elizabeth's for T-Stands For Tuesday!)
Karma loves lazy, quiet days.
As you know, I've done a lot of purging and just decided a couple days ago that I am even going to get rid of my rose lamps.  I don't know if you remember the hanging lamp I had over my table at the old place, but this is the matching table lamp.
Going to have Dagan and Leah unplug it (somewhere behind the desk where I can't reach, I believe) and I'll bring that to the garage, too.  Already hauled out the ceiling lamp.  I have had angels and pastels (mostly rose and sage) for 25 years now.  But these last couple years I had slowly been switching over to bolder colors and lots of red accents.  When I decided to do the apartment facelift (when I thought I wouldn't be able to move for years) it really felt like it was past time for a change.  As you know--lots of reds here now.  It's not Fifty Shades of Grey at my place--it's Fifty Shades of Red--ROFL!  And I am loving the new look.
****
I'll never, ever get rid of all the angels--but the lamps are going to go.
****
I even cleared off the table and put all the tools and hardware in the hall closet for the week...only to make room for me to spread out my stuff--LOL!  Bookcard letters, writing journal, bullet journal, coffee thermos--and my water thermos that is also nearby all day long but is rarely in the spotlight on T-Day--LOL!  You can see how glaring bright it is this morning!
 And where was Miss Karma?
By the patio door, of course.
She thinks she needs to do something when I take a picture--so she pawed at the door.  (But take a video and she doesn't move--LOL!)
Just wants to be left alone to half-sleep in the sun and watch for birds.  I think she loves our new home, too--ya think?  ;)
I haven't seen the grouse family for days.  They do go by quickly and I have been busy, but I tried to keep an eye out yesterday while I started my week of R&R.  No sight of them.  They may have moved on.  There are still sparrows and jackrabbits and the occasional bug for Karma's IMAX nature shows.
****
My only plans for the week are to go do some more chair shopping with Leah and Ian tomorrow.  Caroline shops groceries for me on Thursday and Dagan and Leah will probably come by one night to move the rug over away from the desk.  Just isn't working where it is.  Competes with the desk chair mat and we get these buckles on either side--like this.
When the rug is under the edge of the desk there's no way to flatten out these potential trippers.  So we'll have to pull out the furniture in the middle of the room (chairs and end tables) and move the rug way over.  If there's just a corner left under the chair mat it should be easy to straighten.  I absolutely LOVE the rug, so there's no way I will part with it.  Love the one in the studio, too.  Color!!  Protects the carpeting from grandkids and paint, too--LOL!
****
BTW--I had thought of some other names for the art & craft room, but nothing stuck.  What has stuck is "the studio".  So I guess that is what it will be--not the putter palace or putter place, the dabble room or the dabbler (most accurate), my happy place (but this whole apartment is my happy place)...just nothing else stuck.  So I guess I will be calling it the studio.  :)  That covers all the various types of projects I do--from bookbinding and card making to art journaling and paper making--so I guess it fits okay.  (I think I should call myself the dabbler!!  LOL!)
****
So, this week I promise to leave things alone...no matter how beyond ready I am to be done with this move...let my body heal...just appreciate how nice it looks with the rest of the place finished...before it turns into total chaos again with boxes piled everywhere.
Break Time!
****
Have a wonderful week!!  :):)

I love the rose lamp. It looks like Tiffany style. I have a blue Tiffany style lamp with butterflies. It's in the family room. The bolder stuff is in the living room with the rainbow flag from Italy that says PACE. Your kitchen looks great, especially under the sink. I can't make it look nice under my sink because that's where I put big clunky stuff like the buffet dish with three compartments that can be plugged in, and the griddle. They look messy no matter what I do with them. Oh, the shame.

Love,
Janie

Lovely post, you have worked very hard to get everything so tidy - well done. My kitchen counters are always full of clutter....Glad Karma is doing well. If you need rest then you have to make sure you get it after all that work. Good to hear it's 50 shades of red and not grey! Have a good week, happy T day, Hugs, Valerie

Looks good! Nice that Karma doesn't have to be let in and out of the balcony. Cats do like to be independent ;)

Do you have a pad under the area rug? When we got new carpet, I was told that's a must if we decided to use the area rug, again. The pad helps the carpet breath or something. We opted for no area rug this time around.

I like Studio, especially since you paint. Bet you're itching to set up everything in that room. Will be so nice to be able to shut the door when not in use. I'm a neat and orderly person, but when I'm in the middle of an art project things get messy. I love being able to leave everything out, but not see it all over my house.

Enjoy your downtime!

Great quote at the end of the post Rita. Your new place looks SO wonderful, and very neatly organized too-great job! And red, well being that it is my very favorite color I think red is a perfect color to brighten up any area I say:) Do rest up and take care. Happy T day!

Yes that is a great quote! Looks like you have a lot of storage and you are making the most of it with your organizational skills and attention to details.
Fifty shades of red sounds very nice.
You and Karma take care.
Happy T Day oxo
p.s. thank you for your visit to my Magpie's Nest

It sure does look wonderful, Rita. It also shows how much work you and Leah have done in what seems to be a short time. You've only been there one month, and everything except the studio is done! Yay for you!!! :-)

Great quote, like the idea of leaving things undone. Now you can tackle The Studio at your own pace. I would think that would be a fun room to set up.

We built a room above the family room where I do all my artwork. It's my studio & I guess that makes me the stud!!

Non-essentials. Seems to be the story of my life. I love the idea of calling your art space the studio. I think it fits, too. I know you will make it yours as soon as your body heals. I know Karma is happy to have you close and willing to spend more time with her. Seems Squiggles simply won't leave me alone this week.

Everything is nicely arranged and you deserve a nice rest. Thanks for sharing your water, coffee, and red mug with us for T this Tuesday.

You've become more modern than that lamp.
Velcro the rug? I did that to some cushions.

I wonder why the shelves are so far apart on that one wall...a short shelf and a tall shelf (that I would hate because I would have to use the grabber or get out the step stool!) Other than that and your rug problem you are looking good! I love red accents too:)

You could go all French Impressionist and call the studio your Atelier!

Your place is starting to look like "home sweet home" indeed! And yes, Karma looks very happy too!
