August 9, 2021 Monday--2pm

Just a quick note.  Home from surgery with an unexpected surprise--a catheter bag for 10 days.  All went well.  Pajama days here I come.  Leah is here,  Made me coffee and ice water (have to drink tons of water).  She is heading to pharmacy for prescriptions.  The catheter is to give my bladder a chance to heal and not have to work hard.  So strange to be sitting in my chair here and probably peeing!  Can't even describe how wrong that feels--LOL!  I will have lab results and be able to fiill you in more on how I am healing next Monday.  Thanks to all of you!  Just wanted to let you know I am back home already and now will likely take a little nap till Leah gets back.  :)

So happy to hear that your surgery went well and that you are recovering at home. That's so nice that Leah is there to help take care of you and get your medications.

That would be an odd sensation to have a catheter. It sounds like it is good to have, though, for helping you heal.

I hope the next ten days for your recovery go smoothly and are pain-free! Will look forward to reading an update next week about how you are doing.

Hi Rita. I have been thinking about and praying for you. Glad the surgery itself went well. So glad you are taking it easy and healing up. Keep us updated. See you again soon. Love from UT.

That is good to hear that you are home and healing, and Leah is there to help you.

You probably won't even be aware of the cath other than when it needs to be emptied. Take it easy.

Love,
Janie

I've been thinking about you all day and am glad to hear you're home safe and sound. A 10-day recovery sounds like a good plan, and I hope you heal well.

Thanks Rita for this update, faster then expected. Like others have commented, glad you are home and that Leah is helping you. Agreed that it must feel strange.

Glad you are home and resting. Was thinking of you and hoping all went well. PJ's are the best recovery clothes!

Glad you are home. You know this, take it real easy and let others wait on you. You deserve it.

Oh gosh. I was on a catheter for a day once and found it very uncomfortable.

Rita said...

Oh yes! Only on day two and the only time I am fairly comfortable is if I don't move--at all. I even checked with the surgeon to ask if feeling like you're being sharply poked inside every time you move or even clear your sore throat (from the intubation during surgery) is normal...and she said yes. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and or a heating pad on my tummy might help. Somehow I doubt it will help much--LOL! Nine days to go. I'll make it--but I will be sure glad when this part is over. ;)

I know it's good to be home. I just hope all went as well as you believe it did. You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers, dear Rita.

Nope. Very aware. See my response below to Anvilcloud.
Nie days to go.

LOL! :)
I am drinking tons of water. Only silver lining to this bag is I don't have to run back and forth to the bathroom drinking so much fluids!

I'm so sorry it's bothering you. I've had a cath a couple of times without really noticing it.
