Monday-10am

Since Friday the mornings have looked like this...
...fog and frost.
But this morning it is 46 degrees so it is fog and drizzle.  Variety is good--LOL!  ;)
****
Been a quiet, dark weekend.  Been playing some classic Christmas music on Pandora.  The drabness of the weather doesn't deter me.  I love-love-love this time of year so much that I get to feeling like I am bubbling over with love and joy...well, just because!!  :)
****
Which gives me the giggles over silly things like the depth of Karma's laziness with her treat ball...
...as she lounges on her little green air mattress.
She just rolls the treat ball back and forth...

...until she whaps it too hard and it rolls out of easy reach.
Will not look. Will not look.  I did that on purpose, you know.
One of these days I am going to remember my camera has video--LOL!
****
I am a new follower of Jenny Matlock.  Jenny tells life stories and does a variety of different posts, but on Tuesdays she has been telling her chronic pain story (which fascinates me, of course) and has been giving away copies of this book written by the naturopathic doctor who helped change her life.  I was the winner a week ago and the book arrived Saturday!  Thanks, Jenny!!
I've been trying to slowly change my eating habits.  Been vegetarian for a couple years and am gradually going vegan the last few months--about 90% or more right now.  I'll be really interested to read this, Jenny!  And to hear the rest of your personal story, too.
****
Since there was agreement on the snowflakes being the favorite, this weekend I decided to just get a couple of those all ready to be copied and forget about trying to make anything else.  And I am actually going to use the (formerly disliked) three brown-eyed susans (which have really grown on me) to make cards I can turn into birthday cards or just use to tuck letters into, too.  Those will have to be copied and size-adjusted by the folks at Office Max.
Leah is picking me up after work.  We'll do all the ordering and then Leah will pick them up when they're ready.  And then I'll be busy addressing envelopes and such.  :)
****
Note: If anyone would like to exchange Christmas cards, just email me at soulcomfort@gmail.com, put "Christmas card list" as the topic, and we'll exchange addresses!  I am ordering quite a few extras and as long as there are any left I'd be more than happy to send to some of my blog friends!  And mine does not have to be handmade, of course.  It's such fun getting snail mail!!
****
Writing is going to be the thing for the next couple weeks.  I will be busy writing a letter every day for the next twelve days for The World Need More Love Letters, too!  Artist's Playroom is on hiatus for December.  Zendala Dare is still on!  And if I can squeeze it in, I want to finally start the Taste of Silks class pretty soon.
****
Oh!  And how could I forget!!
****
The manager said he had no records and no name.  Couldn't tell me anything.  Maybe the young man was wrong about the manager dealing with the transaction (assumption?) because he sounded like he would have helped me if he could.  So, the Cashwise Surprise remains a mystery from a Secret Santa.  And due to their generosity, I will be happily ordering a big metal pooper scooper...a huge plastic scoop to conveniently haul kitty litter one-handed from the pantry to Karma's box in the hallway...and a few other equally exciting items this month--tada!  Christmas has already come to Fargo, I tell you!  :)
****
I am off to write an uplifting letter of love--number one--to Emily--who lost everything she owned in an apartment fire--including her car and her two kittens.  I shall wipe my eyes and find some pretty stationery...
****
You can follow this link if you'd like to join me in the 12 days of letter writing.  :)  But, if writing is difficult for you (as it is for a lot of people)--well, just spread a little love somewhere this week.  Best free thing we can do!  I'll leave you with this earworm--LOL!

"Finish each day and be done with it.  You have done what you could.  Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.  Tomorrow is a new day.  You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'm going to take a look at the letter-writing link. It sounds like a worthwhile project, especially for this time of year.

Those Karma pictures crack me up! I love that last one—and your caption for it is hilarious!

Have a wonderful week!

Dear Rita, I would like to exchange Christmas cards. I so look forward to getting one of your snowflakes.

And thank you for the song about what we need. Dulcy knew it so many years ago--"At the end all that matters is love." Peace.

It's still such a lovely surprise, and I would bet your anonymous donor is getting pleasure from this wonderful act of kindness.

Karma- is just so funny! You really do need to write a book about her...

Karma should have her own reality TV show!

Karma and her green mattress!! So funny! Well, though you won't get to know your Secret Santa, so to speak, at least you'll have a wonderful time spending the fantastic gift!!

It was warmer here today. Started out very foggy but the sun peeked out for a short time this afternoon.

Keep the pictures of Karma coming. She's a very entertaining cat. :)

Congrats on winning the book. Looks interesting.

So the Secret Santa shall remain a secret. Secrets are fun this time of year anyway. LOL

What a classic song! :)

Have a great week!

Karma and her air mattress makes me think of how much fun a small child can get out of a box or a laundry basket. Your foggy drizzly weather reminds me of Seattle. I shall visit Jenny next.

Love,
Janie

Karma looks so cute/funny on her green air mattress. I can't figure out how she hasn't popped it yet?! Anyhow she is adorable on that!

Such an uplifting tone to this post, Rita. You ARE in Christmas mode, and it seems like you are blessed in so many ways. Thank you for sharing all of it with me! :-)

Lovely shots of Karma. And that letter writing to spread love sounds like a wonderful idea!

Is Karma a teenager? That not willing to get up for the ball reminds me of many teenagers I have known over the years!

Karma is always so fun to watch. And a metal pooper scooper is the ONLY way to go. They are sturdy, reliable, and mine has a rubber piece over the handle. Such convenience. I swear someone knew what they were doing when they made mine!

Sorry you still don't know who your secret Santa is. But maybe it was meant to be.

Burrrrr that looks cold! Its 60 here today but supposed to vanish over night and turn cold and wet. Just so next week I get a few snow free days I will be happy. Love the "air mattress" photos. I have those to here plus the big pillow type. They lasted like 5 seconds. Karma is showing great restraint! Hope your week is going wonderfully! *hugs* =0)

Love the Emerson quote..it is so true. Old nonsense can really stifle my spirit.
perhaps it is just as well that you don't know who your Secret Santa is..it could be anyone..perhaps someone who never comments but reads...:0 Karma is loving her air mattress:)

Oh you sound soooo happy and that makes me soooo happy!! I can't commit to writing anything with any consistency right now, but that's a beautiful idea! I need to get in the habit of doing challenge cards more, and sending them to bloggy friends like I used to. I've really gotten out of the habit of both. A new year's resolution!!!

Karma - you lazy, funny cat!!

Enjoy your goodies and have a wonderful weekend!

The letter-writing sounds like such a meaningful and memorable way to spend the holiday season.

Can't believe how thick the fog is there!
