Monday-8:30am

I had to chuckle when I read about the Zendala Dare this week.  Erin had read about somebody doing a list of don't for the year instead of resolutions.  A list of what you are not going to do is kind of a cool idea.  Anyways, her challenge this week was a ZenDon't.  Whatever we would normally do--don't do it.  One example she gave was if you normally wait till the end of the week...ahem...
...so I did mine already.  I normally don't do the same pattern on the whole zendala and I normally don't put this much color on one and I normally am posting on Friday.  So here's my ZenDon't--LOL!
I also just remembered last night that the new weekly challenge that Felicia and her friend, Tracy, are doing ends today (or probably yesterday, but I don't post on Sundays at the moment).  They call it the Cross Town Challenge because they live across town from each other...and they're just inviting anyone who wants to join them to jump right in.  Anyways, the challenge for last week was to make two different Thank You cards using the watercolor method (which I love and haven't done for a long time).
So I whipped together three cards last night...
...while I finished watching Boardwalk Empire.  (So imagine serious discussions and gunfire in the background.)
You just use water-soluable markers...
...and color the actual rubber stamp with them...
...then you fine mist the rubber stamp with water and stamp the image.
Yes, these are matching larger and smaller stamp sets I did two at a time.
It's been a while since I have done these and I was a bit heavy on the water--and I haven't written or stamped "Thank You" on them yet--and I can't mail them yet because I am waiting for the thank you item to arrive (lol!)--but I made some cards.  Kind of bent the rules right off the bat.  We were supposed to have mailed it, too--well, I already mailed out ten last week so I'm going to pretend that counts.  But, since I did need some cards and I don't always make cards every week (I thought this Cross Town Challenge might motivate me since I am actually really low on cards), I thought I'd better submit while I could at least fulfill half the challenge--LOL!  ;)

Got my Ink Drop for January.
Made me think about how I never use black to actually write with--only to draw or sketch or tangle.
Miss Karma?  Well, her favorite toy is still...
...a Lindt chocolate candy wrapper on a string.
It crinkles.
I was going to get into a longer explanation on this new idea (for me) for 2013--but I forgot that I have an appointment today over at Federal Housing, so it will have to wait.  Good grief!  Is 2013 already getting away from me?
****
Got to get moving here.
Have a stunning week!!  :):)

You know I had to have my Karma fix today, and I loved her with her "toy"! As always, your art is terrific and something I know I couldn't do.

Your Zen-Don't turned out well. Love the colors.

Very colorful thank you cards, too. It's nice to see flowers this time of year, even if just on a card. It brightens the day.

I hope your appointment with the housing went well.

Nothing can beat a toy that crinkles -- except a toy with diamonds.

Oh wow! I love the "Don't-Do-It" idea. It sounds so funny and much better than the resolutions. Your Don't-Do-It-Zendala is gorgeous as well as the water colors cards!

Enjoyed seeing how you took the blank zendala and transformed it into such a colorful and eye-catching piece of art!
