Friday-8am: L

Little Free Library
(Click here to learn more about them.)
Sorry about the ad links above, but they are attached to the video. Well, who am I to judge...maybe you want breaking news--LOL! Anyways, isn't this a wonderful idea! And so many unique designs! Just tickled me. :)
****
Yesterday my Scrapbook.com order arrived for a little late birthday joy--LOL!
****
Templates!!
A couple of them with groupings I will cut apart.
Something I hadn't seen before that was on sale--chipboard book covers.
Another set of small templates (or stencils, whatever you want to call them).
A set of a dozen small daubers and a plastic box to store small daubers. Want to try to use these with the distress inks so you don't have to clean them every time you change colors or throw away sponge applicators. Sounded like a good idea. We'll see how it works in practice. Just need to find a way to label them.
A jumbo dauber and the Smash date stamp.
A free gift of some paper flowers and a $5.00 off your next order thank you! Nice!
I'm fascinated by these chipboard covers. Not sure how I will use them--can punch holes and use rings or sew them together or use bookbinding or duct tape, whatever you want or can think of.
And will I fill them with something pre-made (a story or poem or artwork) or fill it with blank paper to make a sketchbook or art journal...or write a super-duper letter, for that matter? No clue. But I knew I just had to have them! ;)
And Karma had to have the packing paper.
Slept on it all afternoon.
Late last night Dagan and Leah dropped by briefly with more late birthday joy! The new additions to my cast iron skillet!
The cool red long handle cover and the black attachments for the short handle and the cover handle. (The short, thick clip-ons only come in black.) I am all set now, eh? Fancy!
It has been very windy and the dryer flap has been going off and on for the past few days. I called the office yesterday to ask if they can see if they can do something--anything--to stop it. There have been a few changes in the office since I asked a couple years ago when they said no. This new guy said that after the wind died down he'd have maintenance look at it. (You don't want anybody on top of a very high ladder in 30-40 mph winds.) I suggested maybe they could just put a screen over it to keep the birds out and remove the flap even. We'll see what happens.
****
Today--still windy--flap beating against the building--cold and rainy, too. Nothing will get checked until next week--barring the wind, of course. It's 48, but feels colder because of the wind. I had to turn the heat up with that wind pounding against the windows.
****
Karma and I are inside--safe and warm. :)
****
Sounds hard to believe, but just being out and about three times in 9 days was totally exhausting for me. Absolutely draining. I am hoping to get back to doing some extra things (fun stuff!) soon...maybe even this weekend. I never got past lesson two on Cathy's watercolor journaling class, for goodness sake. So that is first on the agenda--finish up the last two lessons.
****
I switched over to the new Blogger format. Got frustrated trying to post so I switched right back. BUT--that made it possible for me to post comments again--tada! At least it did--haven't tried yet today. Not that you guys need to hear my two cents, but I do enjoy being able to toss it into the mix sometimes--LOL! ;)
****
Have a great weekend!! :):)

I hope you finally get to the bottom of the dryer flap flap!

:) Karma is reliving her days as a "Bag Kat"... she must of liked them... you think she drank cheap wine back then too?

Sounds like both you and Karma are happy with the contents of that package. ;)

Hope they do something about the dryer flap.

Glad you managed to comment again; hope it stays that way.

I haven't switched to the new Blogger yet. Not sure I want to, either. :)

I used to scrapbook and was always sooo excited when I got new stuff. I still all of my Creative Memories supplies but never develop photos now. They just live in my computer waiting for me to put them to disk and make copies.

If you still can't comment today, try another browser. I had some problems last week, but they seem to be resolved. I use Chrome almost exclusively, which is Google's own, so Google's stuff should work on it. :-)

What a great idea and unique way to share books with your neighborhood. If I had a place to put one, I'd start my own!

I love your new scrap-booking things. Oddly enough, I spent all day yesterday taking off many attachments off old birthday/christmas cards to reuse on my scrap-booking. I like to recycle pretty things and it's a shame to throw them away. I even use pinking shears to cut out gift tags.

Goodies! Luv getting goodies!

I got a huge surprize last week. A lady from church stopped in to visit me. She had tickets to a scrapbooking event next Friday. The tickets cost $150 and she was giving me one FREE! A thank you for all of the nice things I've done. It features the founder of Creating Keepsakes, Lisa Bernstein (I think that is right) and supposedly has all sorts of freebies. I can't wait! I am so excited!

Give Karma a pat on the head from me!

The Little Free Library is a great idea. I had never heard of it before. (i noticed Pennsylvania wasn't one of the participating states) I bet lots of books are being shared that way. :)

Love the skillet and the nice additions to it. It's neat how they make heat resistant handle covers for them. Happy cooking!

You got some nice stuff in your order. I liked the butterfly stencil. :)

Sorry to hear the dryer flap is still banging away on the outside of your building. That would grate on my nerves something fierce. I hope they take you up on your suggestion and fix it so it doesn't bother you again.

I absolutely loved that quote.

The Little Free Library is such a great idea! There was someone featured in the Star Tribune a year or so ago who did one in their neighborhood. Thought it was such a clever way to share books and bring about a sense of community.
