Wednesday-11am

Warning!  Tons of pictures today!  :)
First of all I found a few recent pics of Miss Karma pre-furniture rearrangement.  Lounging across my leg on the loveseat.
She has learned to sit up and not to relax or she falls into the gap.
And here she was in her "getting ready for a good sleep" trance pawing the side of her cat bed.
She shot me her "can't a girl get ready for nite-nite in peace" look.
This little white plastic basket I use in a desk drawer.  It fits perfectly on the new shelves.  I found a set of them this size on Amazon for cheap!  They'll be perfect for me to be able to take down bottles, jars, and tubes rather than try to stand on the stool and sort through them.  Plan to order them next month along with the bookcase.  Whoohoo!!
Was a pretty day yesterday.  In the 80s, but the humidity was about the same--LOL!
Leah dropped off self-priming semi-gloss black paint last night.
This is why I can't flip the shelves over.  There are grooves along the bottom so you can set the shelf on the pegs and they won't slide around.  But, as you can see, the bottoms are just raw press board.
Not sure if I'll get started today.  Caroline comes this afternoon, so it would have to be after that.  We'll see.

Last night as it was getting darker in here Karma was tempted to sneak up on the art table.  I camera-flashed her...
...didn't have to say a word...she sat right down with that "who me" look...
...but it was obvious that she wanted to check out the new shelves.  No way!  I have to remember to keep that chair pushed in before I go to bed.  ;)
Now--TaDa!!
Lots of pictures over several days of the progress on Dagan and Leah's house!
Now I could see that the first cement was the footing for the basement walls!

And I noticed--there are now three houses off on that next street!  I could have sworn there were only two there before.  Wow!
Must have been a lot of work hauling in all these sheets of wood.

Then they got it all framed in to pour the walls.

Now I can tell what I am looking at--LOL!  :)

Cement poured and set.

Time to remove the wooden framing.

Once they get going, they really go to town, don't they?  Exciting to see it slowly taking shape.  Hard to believe in just a short time they will be moving in!!
****
Told you there were lots of pics today.  And I shall leave it at that and wish you well!!  :):)

I love those shelves! Usually the one's with grooves are meant to hold plate collections, it stops them slipping. I have a really old dresser with a groove like that, but not on both sides.
I still don't get why they are only painted on one side though.

Good luck with your painting of them!

Are they building the house themselves? that is really awesome. What a project.

I just love your socks. I want some like that!!!! I wondered what Karma was lying on in the first couple of photos.

Karma is quite the ham. She is far more photo ready than Bleubeard, who runs when I grab my camera. Of course, I can't allow Bleubeard anywhere near my craft space because right now he is shedding so badly.

Hope those baskets work out well for you and you get those shelves painted.

That house looks awfully small to me. I hope it is larger than it looks in photos.
