Saturday-7:15am

Beautiful days up here! Getting colder, but it's been sunny and does warm up during the day. Miss Karma has been catching porch time here and there...
...but has been keeping an ear open for the roofers. The second she hears ladders against the building or footsteps on the roof...she's under the bed.
The roofers have been above us off and on all week. Not every day, but they were definitely working overheard this last week.
****
I kept working at taping together the oval parts for the Christmas cards.
Finished this step...
...and started stamping the green trees on the circle parts.
Had to take a break for a couple of days because my bad arm got too sore. I'll probably start up again this weekend. :)
****
I stopped over at Dagan and Leah's Thursday afternoon. Leah had the day off and was working on all the last minute details for the gaming convention/ValleyCon--signs, singeing wooden stools, packing up the car, etc. The convention started last night and I asked her to take pictures. :)
****
I brought home milk Leah picked up for me, some things from K&Krafts, and a couple of etsy orders for Karma. I was going to wait and see if anyone noticed Miss Karma's new wardrobe, but I couldn't resist telling you and showing you--hehe! Here's her old collar--5 1/2 years old.
Here's her new rainbow colored collar...
...with flowers, ladybugs, and dragonflies on it. Karma is checking out her newly emptied cat grass planter. (The grass died--maybe from the temperature shock of bringing it inside?) She must have seen another of those teeny, tiny flying plant bugs that had been hiding in the soil or she thinks she sees them, because she's been keeping watch.
And here's her other new collar. Yes--two new collars! I know--spoiled, eh? I've never had more than one collar for a cat or dog.
But then, I've never had one that had its picture plastered all over a blog, either--ROFL! So--new collars for Karma's many photo shoots. Might become her new diva thing? This collar is awesome! Her name embroidered on cranberry leather with a soft suede underside. It has one big silver clip--so it is fit to size. I'll have to show you the buckle one time here when I switch collars.
****
Anyways, here's the goodies from K&Krafts! One of the Tim Holtz stamp sheets and a refill inker came in that we had ordered--and Leah picked up a dark brown StazOn inkpad and a scarlett Colorbox ink pad. Note: My scarlett inkpad was so old that the top layer of the pad peeled right off! It still basically worked, but specks of what was left of the foam pad would come off when you stamped. It must have been 8-10 years old, at least--and was used a lot. Past time for a new one, eh?
We still have the Tim Holtz snowflake stamps on order, too.
But I'm glad the leaves arrived. Perfect timing!!
I'll have to take a break from the Christmas cards to play with the leaf stamps. Do you think I'll get done with the Christmas cards before November...??? ;)
****
I haven't started to watch The Tudors yet. There's obviously going to be a marathon this weekend--hehe!
****
We've had nights in the low 30's--may have even hit the 20's, I'm not sure. Days in the 50's and 60's. We did recently have our brief Indian Summer where we had 70's and low 80's during the day--but the weathermen sound like they don't expect a repeat of that. Been beautiful, sunny days and chilly nights. I've been on days, so the cold nights are fantastic! 30-40 degrees and I am sleeping with the window open and the fan on low right on the windowsill--snuggled deep under the covers and sleeping well. Ahhh! I am soooo glad to be back on days finally! TaDa!!
****
Saying goodbye to Karma's old collar. I know it's silly, but I will save the chewed heart tag.
I also saw that there are shops on etsy that make tags, too....hummm? Maybe next month? Or for Christmas? ;)
****
Anyways, I'll be watching The Tudors and maybe working on Christmas cards this weekend. What will you be up to?

Karma is a special cat...a much loved cat as anyone who reads your blog can see. Those are really nice collars. I bet she feels special just wearing them. :)

Sorry to see her cat grass died. Will you be planting more and keeping it inside now that it's colder outside? I wasn't sure if you kept it year round for her.

Looks like you're making headway on your Christmas cards. The leaf stamps look like they could be fun to work with. Will be interested to see what you have in mind for them.

Cold and rainy here the past couple of days, but today the sun is back out. It's very windy tho and temps are only in the mid 50s. I think tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer. I hope so. I need to prune back the yews out front before it gets much colder. I bought a new hedge trimmer at Lowe's a few weeks ago. (putting in the storm windows are next on the list and i hate doing that job)

I hope the rest of your weekend is a good one. Enjoy watching "The Tudors". Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a hunk. :) By the way, have you ever watched the movie "August Rush" ? I loved that movie and he had a singing part. :)

If you are going to photograph Karma for the blog the least she deserves is a wardrobe. Nice collars, both of them and Yes, keep the tag.

And why shouldn't Karma be spoiled?

Also... Why shouldn't you keep the tags? I have every tag Kero has ever had (which is several, due to moving, and the fact pets allowed outside tend to damage tags easier).

Sunny but VERY cold here too! Temps are 58F at the highest in the day, 50F at the highest at night. Mostly colder than that though.

AliceKay--I'm not sure she notices they are different--other than when she neck rubs up against her usual things about the apartment these don't have the dangly metal end so she doesn't get the little clanky noise. So she rubs harder. ROFL!!

I'll wait a while and plant some more. You can grow it any time of year.

Yes--saw August Rush--before I know who Jonathan Rhys Meyers was. Might have to rent that again--hehe! He is a hunk, for sure. Even when they are trying to make him a heavier, older Henry VII. Hard to make him look bad. ;)

Barbara--Yup--I'm keeping it! She chewed off the telephone number when she was a kitten--hehe! Thanks for stopping by. I love reading about the journey you and Nina are taking. She's a beautiful horse!

Tori--I kept my last cat's tag, too. Her name was Chakra. Sounds like you have a Kero collection. I may end up with a Karma collection--hehe!

*Nods* Yes, I have a Kero collection. I also have the tags from the three dogs we had for short times (Jayde, Lucy and Bella). My cats have never had tags (couldn't get them to keep collars on) or I'd have kept those too!

It looks to me like Karma is staring into the grass pot watching for the grass to grow.

Silly cat, someone needs to tell her a watched pot never sprouts...

:)

Karma is a very special cat and I love the new colars. Being an embroiderer myself, I can tell you that whoever did the embroidered collar did a great job.

You sure have your work cut out for you with those cards! Lookn' good.

Iggy--It does look like she is waiting for grass to grow--ROFL!

Deanna--Thanks! I thought it looked pretty nice for being embroidered on leather. Nice to know--from an embroiderer. ;)

Going to take quite a while to finish the cards. I have many steps left to go.
