Sunday-10:30am

The chair cover that was scheduled for delivery on Thursday finally arrived on Saturday.  USPS has been making cutbacks, so I guess it can take longer to get packages these days.  I don't think they're used to the delays, either.  They kept switching the delivery date online.  At least it wasn't because it got lost or something.  ;)
****
The chair cover arrived!
I also got a couple cheap things to qualify for the free shipping, of course.  A sample pack set of DecoArt Twinkles Writers.  They look like big bottles of glitter glue.
And a set of scrubby kitchen dishcloths.  I have never tried these.  They're cloth on the one side...like a terry cloth...and plastic mesh on the other side.  Not sure if I will like them or not.  So used to my decades of Scotch Brite Pads.  ;)
I was ready...had cleaned off the metal chair and the tables.  The new cover is stiff, of course, but tried it out right away on the metal glider chair.  This chair is smaller and lower, but the cover will work just fine.  There are leg ties on the inside seams.  It's okay.  It will soften up with the heat, rain, wind, and snow.
Karma was a little distressed, though.  Her food and water dishes are under that chair--LOL!
Then I tried it on the cushioned chair.  I flip the ottoman upside down on it and cover them both--and it worked just fine.
Miss Snoopy Pants had to check that out, too, of course.  ;)
We hung out on the porch most of the day Saturday.  I went in on breaks, of course.  (If I sit in one place for more than an hour or so I can hardly walk when I go to get up--so it's always like a very slow game of musical chairs around here--LOL!)  Used breaks to work on the latest zendala for this week.  This is the template.
I added a lot more lines to it, started coloring with my copic markers, and got this far yesterday.
Karma always steals my spot when I leave.  She looked like she was out like a light on the chair.  I tried to walk as quietly and slowly as I possibly could...already had the camera on so there was no camera noise...and yet she heard me!?
Are you kicking me out?
That's probably why.  She knows she gets kicked out when I come back so she keeps one ear open--LOL!  But she saw I was just taking pictures.  Strange humans.
Bird!
The swallows love this building.  They nest from early spring till it's very cold out.  Babies-babies-babies.  I love the sounds and watching them swoop by the windows, but I am glad I have a screen up so I can use my porch/balcony.  They get quite upset if you try to go out on your porch if they have a nest there and dive bomb you.  People are always calling maintenance to remove nests, he told me.  They love the top of the porch lights...which is where we had a nest the first summer I was here before we put the makeshift screen up.
****
Anyways, it's been hitting 80 during the day, but in the 50s to low 60s at night.  I little hotter than I like--especially up here on third floor where it gets even warmer by early evening.  I've been trying to leave the place open.  But I did cover the chairs (said it could rain again) and close up for a while last night to cool it off.  Yes!  the AC is working--tada!
But--before I closed it up...in flew a moth!!!!  I think it landed in the philodendron and I haven't seen it since.  They can't get in under the screen anymore.  But there are gaps at the ends of the indoor/outdoor carpeting we tacked down out there--as you can see.  Here's right by the door...
...and here on the far end by the padded chair.
The carpet gaps don't even go the whole width of the balcony (it was hard to cut the carpeting perfectly to fit out there), but now I might have to think of something to plug the gaps between the boards on those ends.  Honest to goodness!  I have never seen so many moths in all the years I've lived here!  It's like a moth plague!  Any little crack and they will crawl in.  You'd think the swallows would have eaten them all.
****
I left the door open all night, though.
Not expecting a big influx through those end board cracks.  ;)
****
Has anybody else heard that they are going to discontinue the Blogger reading list?  I've been using it for six years!  I hope that's not true.  I will be bummed.  I haven't figured out google reader to this day.  *sigh*
****
Oh, and also--when I was expecting the class email for Doodles Unleashed starting (never did get one), I checked my spam folder (which was difficult for me to find in the first place).  Guess what!?  That is where my missing blog comment emails have been going!  Into spam!  And I think I figured out why.  They bunch up several in one email and any time I got an anonymous comment--it got bumped to spam and every other comment got bumped right along with it.
***
So, I went into my settings on Blogger and changed to registered users only so that I don't get any anonymous comments anymore and we'll see if that fixes the problem.  Maybe I'll get all my comments via email again?  Whoohoo!  :)
****
It's possible that when I am clicking to receive follow-up comments and don't get them that they might be ending up in my Spam Gone Wild, too, but I wouldn't know how to fix that issue.  At least I may have solved one mystery.  ;)
****
I'm listening to baby birds crying for food.  I sure hope mom and dad are feeding them moths.  The sun is out.  The prediction for the next five days is NO RAIN!  So we'll see if several dry sunny days actually come to pass.  Maybe the rain will wander off to some of you that really need it.  ;)
****
I know I should be working on the watercolor mixed media page, but I am heading to the porch to read again.  ;)  I won't be able to start her Doodles Unleashed class until July, anyways, when I get the illustration board.  If I can afford it...have big plans for July.  A big purchase for me that totally takes priority.  So exciting!  Well, exciting to me.  ;)
****
Anyways, have a great Sunday!
Keep smiling!  :):)

We had a moth in the house last night. It drove me insane--and it was only the one. I don't know how you do it!

Have a great Sunday!

It looks like the chair cover will work nicely on your chairs. Should help protect them from the weather. Loved your pictures of Karma. She cracks me up. Typical cat, though. :)

I love your zandela already and it's only partially done. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you finish. :)

I'm glad you found your missing Blogger comments. My email provider sends some of my emails to a Junk mail folder on their webmail account page. I sometimes forget to sign in to see what might be sitting there. PITA. :0

Another hot day here in northeast PA with possible stray thunderstorms coming later. It was beautiful yesterday. Hot, but not as humid as it's been lately. The humidity has returned today.

You have me curious as to what your big plans are for July. Guess I'll have to wait until July to find out. ;)

Enjoy your Sunday!

I tagged you today.
That is a great porch! I wish I had a nice shaded place like that to sit and blog where I could enjoy fresh air but not freeze in the AC.

I hadn't heard that about Blogger discontinuing the reader list; I think I'll be lost without it too. Glad you found where your comments were going; funny a lot of mine went into spam and now they aren't, weird how blogger works.

Too cute with Karma always moving into where you were when you vacate the area. She is such a cute cat; I like how she always likes to explore things you have around your house that are new :)

I adore reading your posts and checking up on the adventures of Karma... poor baby thinking she was going to be deprived of food, bless her heart, she is going to starve, good thing she reserves her energy by napping, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina where we need to rain!! :)

Miss Snoopy Pants -- an excellent nickname for Karma. When I lived in Illinois, the barn swallows would build nests on top of the light by our front door. Dr. X went to knock the mess down one time and heard a tiny noise. The nest was full of babies. The nest, babies, and parents stayed put until everyone grew up enough to fly away.

Love,
Janie

I've not heard anything about Blogger changing, but I've not been Blogging for very long and already there has been a change which totally confuses me. I always have to ask someone to help me out.
We've hardly seen any moths this year, but we have countless nests in our clematis and Virginia Creeper which covers all of our house!
It doesn't get totally dark at this time of year, so they start chirping about 3:00 a.m. My cats bring in quite a few baby birds, but don't harm them for some strange reason. My big orange one likes to sit under my bench just to watch them feed at my feeder!
Strange cats!!! ;)

Like the look of the seat cover and of course Karma would want to check out what was under it because that is what cats do...........even if Karma doesn't know/think she is a cat

It is great that you have fixed the problem with geting your comments emailed to you again.........

Your comments weren't gone after all, just stuck in the spam folder. I'm actually amazed at how well the spam filter on Blogger works. I rarely have a real one show up there, and they rarely miss a spam comment.

You are definitely making progress with those zendala challenges. I like this one...

Have never heard of a zendala before. Your work so far is stunning.

It would take some getting use to for me as well with the dish cloths. Would be worth a shot to see if they work well.

Karma cracks me up.Such a curious cat!

Good news on the chair cover fitting!! Of course Karma has to check it out....it's HER house after all, lol!

How do you like using your Copics?? I love how they don't leave "lines" like regular markers do!!! You know you can add different colors, but combining them! Use the lighter of two pens and get color from the darker and you'll create a medium shade!! That increases your rainbow of colors!

I'm glad you figured out your comment issue. Computers and Blogger can be such buggers sometimes!!!

Hugs and I hope you have a great week ahead!

Dear Rita, one of the big things I noticed about Missouri when I first moved here three years ago is the many different kinds of ants and the infestation of them. Today I discovered an army (soldiers, marines, and sailors) by the front door and all along the side of the garage! No moths, but lots of minute ants!

As to weather. Here it is supposed to be up in the high nineties for the next ten days with several of those days being up in the triple digits. Zowie! Not like Minnesota!

Peace.

I've got my blog set to registered user too and it has not given me one whit of trouble. No anonymous commenters, no spam, nothing.

Karma is sure living the life! :)

I had noticed the same problem with UPS... now I see its due to cutbacks. Ah well, life goes on I guess!

The chair covers are nice. Poor Karma. You keep changing things!

I had not heard blogger was discontinuing the reading list. But nothing would surprize me.

I hate moths almost as much as flies. I hope your hungry little birdies eat the devil out of them!

I love your cat! Karma has such personality!!

Ugh! I hope yo can get the gaps covered over so the moths can't get in!

If I stay in one place for too long it takes me a few minutes to be able to walk freely again with the one leg (I move it about all the time if I need to be sitting down for a long time; it helps some). Anyway, it must be ten times worse for you; especially on your bad days!

ha...love that look on karma's face when she spotted the bird! eye roll! ha!
your porch looks good and it's nice that you can leave the door open when the weather's good...now that you have the screen up...even though you get the occasional moth!

looks like fun doing that mandala thingie...i used to do stuff like that with graph paper. wish i had the time....

well you have a good week rita!!
