Wednesday-4pm

Beautiful day today!
49 degrees right now, blue skies, fluffy white clouds...ahhh!
I had to set my alarm so I'd be up this afternoon for Caroline, who just left a little bit ago. During the night I played a little more with my art journal...got out rubber stamps and metallic ink pads this time.
I figured the first page should be a reminder every time I open it to just..."play"!! I added a variety of small plant stamps peeking around the edges of the page. Caroline loved it. It's got shimmer when you see it in person.
Anyways, that might be it for page one. I think I am happy with this as it is now. Next I will have to decide if I want to do a two page spread or stick with one page at a time. :)
****
The Ink Drop for November arrived already today!!
Reds and greens...tada!!
The biggest thing is that it's Dagan's birthday today!!
****
****
My plan had been for Dagan and Leah to help me bring in the boxes of pictures from the garage last week so that I could find some baby pictures of Dagan and maybe figure out how to use my new printer's scanner...but...best laid plans--LOL! So, I promise that sometime in the future (if I can learn how to use a scanner--my old printer's scanner never worked because I bought an "as is" floor model) that I will start posting some of my old photos in my blog.
****
Meanwhile...my Dagan is 37!
Blows me away.
****

I sent both these videos to Dagan today--LOL! The original Beatles version (even if it has crazy looking paper Beatles in it) and this one where Sir Paul can still rock it out! ;)
****
For some of you newer followers--Dagan was born with a severe series of heart defects and wasn't expected to live. To get a glimpse into those early days you can read Soft Breaths from my stories blog. (This story has been published three times.)
****
I'm so proud of Dagan as a human being. He's got a good soul and I'm honored to be his mom. Even love his sweetheart, too. What more could anyone ask for in a son?
Happy Birthday, Dagan!!
****
The writing prompt for the day:
If you knew that whatever you ate next would be your last meal, what would you want it to be?
****
Eaten very, very, very slowly.
****
I wish you a day filled with giggles!! :):)

I love fluffy white clouds against a clear blue sky!

I'm sure Dagan would have enjoyed his birthday videos. I hope he and Leah enjoyed their dinner out.

Love what you did with the journal page, Rita!

My answer to the writing prompt would be Extra Hot Vindaloo Prawn Curry with Basmati rice. YUM! And yes, eaten very slowly so I could savour every mouthful. :)

Have a great day!

Serena :)

Serena--Thanks, lady!
Oooo--spicy! My Swedish taste buds would be on overload--LOL! ;)
Have a great day to you, too! Yours is probably starting. I hope your brother's surgery went okay. *hugs*

Deanna--They used to call him their miracle baby or miracle boy every time we went to the cardiologist's office for a few years there--would introduce him to other parents and children--LOL! He's still our miracle boy. :):)

Carol--I am a neat freak. Now you can see what I mean by me having OCD tendencies--LOL! ;) I'll be waiting for pictures of your painting. :)
Fun to hear what other people would like for a last meal. Lobster! ;)

Tori--Hard to believe Dagan is that old. Be nice to see him tomorrow...and Leah, of course. :)

Beth--Oh, you're so sweet! Thanks! :)

Donna--Pretty silly Beatles, aren't they? Reminds me of the Yellow Submarine stuff, though--LOL! Thanks much! :)

Dear Rita, thank you for sharing both the story of your son, Dagan, who seems like such a dear, and the on-going story of your journal on "Play."

I wonder if you have time to tell us some more about how you began to be so interested in paper quality, pens, cards, writing, and journaling--the passion that you share with us. I loved your past blog on the pens. I'd never seen those glass ones before.

Now I wish you'd tell us about how you found the various places from which you get pen and ink and paper. Did you just look through catalogues or was this by word of mouth? Did you have a mentor?
I'd be so interested in knowing more.

Peace.

Jeannie--Thanks so much! Same to you, lady! ;)

Iggy--So true! Being Dagan's mom has taught me to appreciate time and life and to not sweat the small stuff. Gratitude. Every day with him here has been a gift. We should all know that each of our days is truly a gift. Thanks, Sweetie!! :):)

Dee--I'll have to write a post about all that. Thanks for the encouragement. I jotted down some notes from your questions. :):)

Santosh--Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the old Beatles birthday song and loved the prompt. :)

Carolyn--Play is the perfect reminder for me who has such a time loosening up!! ;)

Wendy--LOL! Yes, he is a grown man and I keep calling them kids and him "my boy"--ROFL! Moms! Geez! He's used to me, so that's good--LOL! Have a super day! :)

Desiree--Thanks! He seemed in playful spirits when I saw him. :)
Glad you liked it. I might have to try some acrylics or something else, too. :)
